Lost and Broken

Humans

I set myself apart from them
I call them by another name
I feel awkward when they're in my space.
Humans.

I act as though I'm different
I seem fine on the outside
I might compare, but it's hard to even try.
Humans.

I read and see and look through things
I even try to blend in
I feel pain and hunger, like normal beings
But I'm still afraid of
Humans.

I've tried to be "normal"
But I'm still a freak
I feel half animal
But I just might be
A pain-feeling, depression-fighting, normal, hurting.
