First of all a massive thanks to all the readers, commentors and voters. You have no idea how much your words mean to me. I hope you enjoy this next chapter as well.
the weekend after the competition that coincided with the anniversary of Africa, the two of them went to Balmoral. It felt great for Liv to just be away from everyone wanting to know how she was doing. The last thing she needed was for everyone wanting to know that. How would she have been doing? It was exactly one year after the hostage situation that changed her and twelve other lives.
"I just want to be alone for a bit Harry." She told him in a not so happy tone to her voice. "I'll get dressed and join you," Harry muttered, not listening at all as he pushed the sheets off his body and threw his legs over the edge of the bed.
"Harry," she warned through gritted teeth as she got up from lacing her boots. "I want to be alone." emphasising alone in syllables, putting her hands on her hips she threw him a glare.
"Harry I love you but if you follow me, I'll shoot you with one of the arrows hanging off the walls." she warned him, pulling on her coat before leaving their bedroom in Balmoral.
making her way out of the castle she started walking towards the river, she needed some time alone. A year had gone by and so many things had changed since then, and she needed some time to reflect on everything.
To say that tensions had been running high that day between the young couple would have been an understatement. At one point Phillip had taken her to the river to go fishing and clear her mind. The noise of water was always something that had been able to calm her down. And when they'd gone back inside Liv had calmed down enough to not bite Harry's head off again.
When she had gone to the library to lose herself in the many and great books there The Queen had joined her. "I thought you could use this today." The Queen noted, putting down a glass of Scotch beside her on the side table.
"Thanks, Ma'am." Liv smiled up at her. "Please none of that here, Elizabeth, Lillibet or Lily will do just fine." The Queen muttered sitting down on the couch opposite of hers. giving her a small smile she closed her book and took a sip of the Scotch.
"I'm sorry for being such a trouble today." Liv apologised, taking a deep breath, she felt bad for being such a bitch today.
"I understand Liv," Elizabeth said with a reassuring tone. "You've gone through so much in the last year and you still came out on top of it all. You're a young and inspirational woman. No one will hold your behaviour of today against you. I can't understand what it was like last year in Mosquito village, I can only admire the strength you have shown through all of it." The Queen told her with a small smile on her face.
"I didn't know any other way to deal with it." Liv told her with a small chuckle and shake of her head. "that's what makes you, you." The Queen agreed her head tilted to the side.
"through the year I've thought back to that day. Tried to think of how I could have handled things differently," she admitted with a small shake of her head.
"How's your therapy going?" Elizabeth asked, resting her arm on the armrest. "It's going really well. I can never thank Daniel enough for his support he's given me and my sister. I wouldn't be here without his help. He said this week the possibility of some blowback was highly likely, which it is." Liv informed her with a bothered sigh.
"Still the progress you made from having gone through that within a year is incredible and admirable." Elizabeth tried to convince her with a small smile as she took a sip of her glass of wine.
"I just hate being weak, I didn't want to be seen like one," Liv admitted with a sad smile on her face. "You can't be weak even if you wanted to. You're an incredibly strong person, a leader, you rise above everything is thrown your way. You're never weak hun." Elizabeth reassured her with a small smile on her face.
