Mommy wakes me up.
"Leo, breakfast is ready," she says softly. I roll over and bury my head in a pillow.
"Today's a exciting day, but it can't start if you don't get out of bed." Mama says. I slowly prop myself up and look at her.
We go to my room and get me dressed. I set out my outfit last night so we would be ready for today.
After I'm dressed and picked out which stuffie would come with us, we ate a quick breakfast. Mama sat a bowl of my favorite sugary cereal in front of me.
"Thank you mommy!" I say scooping a big bite into my mouth.
"We're gonna need energy for the trip!" she says ruffling my hair. When I finish my bowl mommy is packing the bag for the car.
"Snacks, toys, phone charger, and a sippy. I think we're almost ready to go! Did you go potty?" mommy asks.
"Check!" I say attempting to tie my red converse. Mommy chuckles and ties them for me.
We leave the apartment and head to the car. Mama buckles me up then turns on the radio. She puts her sunglasses on and kisses my cheek.
"Las Vegas here we come!" Mommy says backing out of the parking lot.
"Yay!" I say excitedly.
From where we live Las Vegas is around a four hour drive, mommy says we'll have so much fun I won't even get bored! I spend around an hour looking out the window and playing with my stuffie, Spike.
"Mamaaaaa..." I exaggerate. Mommy chuckles.
"Babyyyy," she says back.
"Spike wants to do something," I say. Mommy passes me a car I roll it around the dash bored.
"Vroom vroooom!" I shout. Mommy shushes me and I pout. I get on my phone and watch Chuggington on netflix.
"Mommy can we go on a train?" I ask. Mommy nods.
"I don't see why not, I think it'll be fun!" she says. I celebrate to myself then go back to my show, imaging what my first train ride will be like.
"Mommy!" I say.
"What is it baby boy?" she asks.
"I has to pottyyyy..." I drag out. We take the next exit to a rest stop and I skip to the bathroom.
"Don't fall in," Mommy says playfully. That scares me and I reach out for mama's hand.
"There's monsters in the potty?" I say sadly.
"Oh no baby, mommy was just kidding," she says with a chuckle. I wanna believe her but I was still scared.
"Mama come with me?" I ask. Mommy half smiles and brings me to the family bathroom.
As we're leaving the rest stop I see a vending machine. I scan it and see a package of animal crackers.
"Mama mama! Look!" I say pointing to the snack.
"Baby, we have snacks in the car," Mommy says.
"But we don't have animal crackers! Please please please?" I beg giving her the puppy dog eyes. Mommy gives in and gets me the animal crackers.
"Yay! Thank you mommy! I love you!" I say giving her a hug.
"Yeah you better," Mama says kissing me cheek.
When we get on the road again I eat my crackers happily.
"Aminal crackers in my soup!" I say quoting Shirley Temple. I enjoy my crackers and sing along to the radio. Soon enough I doze off.
Mommy wakes me up at the state line. My eyes go wide as I see the welcome sign for Nevada.
"Mama look! We're in Nevada!" I shout. I look at the GPS and see we'll be there in 20 minutes. I bounce around in my seat excitedly. I look out the window and see what looks like the Eiffle tower. I get confused because we're definitely not in Paris.
"Mommy, is that the Eiffle Tower?" I ask. Mama chuckles.
"Its a replica! Do you know what that means, baby?" mama asks. I think about it for a minute.
"Is it a copy?" I guess.
"Yes! What a smart boy! Do you wanna visit the tower?" she asks. I nod excitedly. When we get there its even bigger than when I first saw it. My little mind is completely blown. Mommy pays admission for us and we look around.
"Mommy look! The whole world is beneath us!" I say when we get to the top.
"Hold that pose!" she says taking out her camera. Mama takes my picture and it looks really good. Then I take a selfie with her.
We stay there until it gets dark. The whole tower lights up the sky.
"Its so beautiful!" I say.
"Okay, buggaboo. We need to get to our hotel," mama says. I sigh but don't argue because I can feel myself getting sleepy. I follow mommy to the car and get in. Our hotel is only five minutes away so it doesn't take long to get there. We bring all our stuff up to the room and I flop onto the bed.
"Aww, is my little man tired?" mama asks. I nod my head.
"Don't fall asleep, you're not in your PJ's yet!" I groan loudly.
"Mama pick out my jammies?" I ask. Mommy smiles and I hear the suitcase unzip. I lay on the bed half asleep. I feel mommy sit on the edge of the bed and caress my cheek.
"Aww its been a long day, hasn't it baby? Mama's gonna put you in a diapee then put your jammies on, okay?" mama asks. I weakly nod my head again. She puts me in a fluffy diap and then puts my teddy bear jammies on
"Now here's your paci and Mr.Cuddles," mama says. I open my mouth for the paci then take my stuffie.
"Thank you mama," I say softly. Mommy lays down next to me then kisses my forehead.
"Anytime baby boy, now go nini,"
