I walk into our apartment and throw my bag onto the couch. Class was long today, on top of that my professor gave us an essay and a chapter to read.
I cuss under my breath. There's been a lot going on recently and I haven't regressed in a month or so.
"Hey babe, how was class?" Tye asks bringing her usual comforting vibe. She sits next to me on the couch and I wrap my arm around her, instantly relaxing.
"Long, boring, frustrating," I say. She laughs
"That good, huh?" She smiles. I Ask about her day and she tells about her interpretation work. I try my best to listen but all I can hear is my professor talking about how important this chapter is.
"Are you okay, sweetie?" Tye asks. I nod my head.
"Just stressed," I say. She rolls her eyes at me.
Tye
He thinks I can't see through him. We've been together for going on two years and he thinks I can't tell when he needs to regress.
"Maybe you're stressed because you haven't been small in awhile?" I ask. He bites his lip then turns his attention to the ground. I reach to the coffee table where his favorite paci has been sitting for weeks.
"Hey baby! Look what mama found!" I say drawing circles with the paci. Leo's face turns bright red and he hides his face in my neck.
"Stoooooop," he whispers. I rub his back.
"So my baby doesn't want the paci?" I ask teasingly. He gasps then attempts to grab it. My reach goes further than his and he can't get it.
"Maaaamaaaa! I wan the paci!" Leo whines. I give him a serious look.
"What do you say?" I ask. He puffs then gives me the puppy dog eyes. I try my best not to cave but I haven't seen my baby in what felt like forever.
"Oh fine!" I say putting the paci in his mouth. He smiles so big it melts my heart.
We sit on the couch and I put on Chuggington for him. He's adorable. He's still wearing a black t-shirt and basketball shorts. I love when he dresses up in the onesies and shortalls and play suits. But when he regresses in his "big boy clothes" it reminds me of the first time he ever regressed around me.
"Sippy!" He says through his paci.
"Sippy what?" I ask. I see him think. Decide whether or not he's gonna say it or be bratty.
"Sippy pease!" He says excitedly. I kiss his forehead then go to the kitchen to get him some juice. When I get back he isn't on the couch. I look down the hall and see the nursery door open. I walk to the room and hear him talking to his stuffies.
"I'll never be gone that long again! I miss you guys too much!" He says. I stand in the doorway and watch him play.
"You found your friends?" I ask.
"Yep! They all missed me so much! TJ said he thought I'd never come back," he says.
"Make sure he knows you'll never leave him again," I say. I look at my watch and see it's 3:00pm, his usual naptime. And as if on cue he gives me a big yawn.
"Are you sleepy, dino?" I ask. He shakes his head no. I ignore his lie and pat the changing table. I see his eyes light up but he still pretends to be big.
"Silly mama, big boys don't need diapees!" He giggles. I roll my eyes.
"Good thing you're not a big boy! Now get your booty up here," I say patting the changing table again. He squeals and climbs up. I change him into a Rearz Safari to match his nursery.
I make sure to give him all his favorite stuffies and tuck him in tight. I read him a little story and then he falls asleep.
As I quietly walk out of his room I realize how much I missed my boy. I love being Leo's girlfriend but being his caregiver is my favorite way to spend my time. Being in caregiver space is just as important to me as it is for Leo to get into his regression space.
