Peter woke up with scream in his bed. He was sweating and shaking.
Outside, the rain had poured into the city. With thunders came every minute.
Yeah. Nice to meet you too, Mister Lord of Thunder, sir.
Peter wanted to laugh at his pathetic side of joking around with his current condition. He curled his feet, for his knees touched his chest. Moving his body back and forth. It was coming again, the nightmare. Since the last war, Peter kept getting nightmares. But it wasn't about him being vanished from earth and turned into an ashes. It was all about his mentor, about Tony.
Peter saw Tony in his dream, vanishing into the air, leaving him alone in the dark. As Tony reached out and calling his name multiple times. As if Tony begged him to not let go. Peter afraid of dark, since the incident of his uncle died in a dark alley getting shot by a strangers, he had a trauma of being in a dark place. Peter called Tony's name, trying to find him and be able to get out of the dark place. But Tony was nowhere to be seen and he had been afraid if something was happening to him while he was trapped in the place.
Just like Uncle Ben.
Peter moving his body back and forth again. The image of his uncle that day repeating in his head. How he looked at him with sorry in his eyes while drowned in his own blood. His uncle was sorry for not being able to keep him save anymore or watch him grow older, or kept him from nightmares about his parents. His uncle wasn't going to be there when Peter needed comfort everytime he got nightmares.
A loud thunder was heard from the outside of his bedroom. Because of the nightmare, the anxiety appeared, and it made his senses going at the highest level. He could hear people's breathing all around Queens, their footsteps, even he was able to count how many rain drops fell to the ground. Peter closed his ears with his hands, if May was here, she would've came to his room and they would do their usual thing if Peter ever got a nightmare, hot chocolate and sleep in the couch until morning. But the anxiety was new to him, it wasn't completely new though, he got it since Ben died which mean 3 years ago. But it got worst after the Vulture Guy thing and the last war on the Titans. The worst was after the last war.
May had taught him how to deal with nightmares. She would tell him to put on a relaxing music, don't think, and don't force himself to sleep. He could woke up for the night if he needed to and make himself a hot chocolate as he enjoyed the relaxing music. It would always work, though. But May never knew about the anxiety. Even Tony didn't know about it. He kept it so secret. Until Ned found out one month after the last war when Peter got the anxiety at school and Ned had to help him lied to the teacher as he help Peter went to the bathroom to calm himself down. Only Ned knew.
But now Peter wasn't able to do anything as he curled himself up, pressed his leg tightly on his chest and surrounding himself with the blanket. He was afraid, and the anxiety began to get him. He forgot how to breath normally as if it was a strange thing to him, his body was trembling so badly, and he really needed to vomit but his legs were too limp to go out of his bed. So he just sat in his bed, fighting the anxiety over with his senses being at the highest level. It was worst, so much worst. Peter could feel the breath of his neighbors who was live 2 floors above him.
Just as he was about to gave up and got unconscious, his phone was ringing. Peter wasn't going to answer it, because his body felt like it was being stabbed by transparent pointy object. Luckily, Peter put it not too far away from his bed. He just needed to move for 5 inches and grabbed the phone which ringing only worsened his enhanced hearing.
"Hello?" it was the second ring he received.
"Kid, are you alright?" Peter never been happier as he heard the voice. A very calm and familiar voice.
