Lies

Tony said, Peter could come to the compound this afternoon to help him upgrading his suit. Since it was friday, Tony allowed Peter to also stay overnight in case they overworked in the lab for the suit. But no one was ever gonna mention if Tony could get sick a few hours before the kid's arrived at the compound.

Tony was just working in his lab that morning. He hadn't been sleeping for the entire night because of the nightmare he suddenly got. He was all alone at the compound. After what happened in Germany, the team decided to broke up, left him alone to live at the compound. Waking up every night for the guilty, anger, sadness, and depression. Since Bruce and Thor were nowhere to be seen, Pepper and him had broken up long ago, and Rhodey was under a treatment at the hospital so Tony was actually alone at the compound.

Since that day, Tony had been deliberately inviting Peter to work with him. It was easier for Tony to work alone, hiding his emotion, and channeling it by making more suit or upgrade. But somehow, he needed that kid to be there with him, to relieve his stress about the Avengers stuff. Usually, Bruce was the one who managed to be his stress relief. Since he didn't know where he was, Tony thought, he could use Peter for a distraction to his brain.

He was just working casually in his lab when suddenly he could feel something strange in his throat. It was sore for him to swallow, and he started to get dizzy by the time he was trying to put the bolt on the project. Tony needed a solid 6 minutes to just staring blankly at the wall, to eliminating his dizziness, then continue. Since he rarely got sick, Tony forgot when was the last time he got sick. The depression he got, covering his sickness, leading him to a mental illness he sometimes needed to handle.

Then he gave up the minute one he started to feel the hit inside of his brain. It was like being hit by Thor's hammer, he put down his project, rubbing his temple and just sat in his chair with head lying on the chair's dashboard. He remembered the creepy memory to when Steve Rogers was crushing his suit with his shield, when he closed his eyes shut. He thought, at that time, Steve was going to crush his face for him to close his eyes and just resigned to accept the situation. Because Tony thought, he deserved it. He deserved to be crushed under one of his teammates who he considered as a family. Who he cared the most.

Because Tony didn't care anymore about his life. He just wanted to die at that moment, and if that was necessary, he wanted to die under his father's most proudest person. Tony could feel less about his feelings or emotion anymore, sometimes he felt he was just a robot with an actual human skin and bones, walking on earth and breathing only for a support to his system. He didn't want to care about anyone else anymore, he didn't want to feel anymore, because feelings was what causing him to bear so much painful and sadness.

"Boss, Mister Parker has entered the compound," F.R.I.D.A.Y's sound was suddenly echoing around the lab. Making Tony jumped in surprise as he opened his eyes. Jesus, even opening his eyes making him sick.

He stood, rubbing his neck. "Tell him to go to the living room first, F.R.I," Tony could feel his throat was really sore, his voice even became hoarse.

"On it, boss."

But meeting Peter was something else. Peter changed Tony into a person he never thought he could, he changed into a better man. Without realize, he started looking for the boy's presence everytime Peter wasn't near him. Or he would get panicked if Peter didn't inform him his status whenever he was going as Spider-Man. Tony of course, didn't admit the feelings he started to grow inside his heart, and argued anytime Happy mentioned about Tony's attitude around the boy. Seriously, boss. You started to become like his father. Happy told him everytime Tony purposely checking on any of his voicemails.
