Peter hated being the center of attention.
He wasn't used to it. He froze in his place the time he faced Captain America, standing in front of him with hands on his hip as he frowned. All the Avengers were surrounding him. They looked down at the boy from their own spot. Clint and Natasha exchanged glance many times Peter afraid if their eyes would pop up at any times. He sat on the couch, with fingers tangled in anxiety. This was not supposed to be happening.
Bruce was sat beside him, uniting his hands. He smiled a little at Peter. The last time Peter saw Bruce Banner was before he entered the space ship to save the wizard guy from the last war. They didn't quietly meet each other but Peter saw him as he was thrown across the street by the Voldemort looking guy. He was busy saving his mentor and the wizard guy, until he forgot to come across the street and greeted his favorite scientists. Now, they met exactly at the compound. With Bruce sat beside him, giving him a warm gentle little smile. How could they say the Hulk was a disaster monster? Bruce was the most gentle, softest, and nicest person that could walk on earth. And honestly, Peter glad he was actually obsessed with a good guy.
Peter could feel his anxiety started to roaming around his body as he tangled his fingers more. He didn't dare to look at the other Avengers too long, so he just took a glance yet he regretted doing it. Peter couldn't describe the expressions in their faces. Angry, worried, concerned, sad, everything was mixed together and Peter didn't like it. He knew there will come the time when he had to be introduced to the rest of the Avengers. But he didn't know if that time would be this moment in a wrong occasion.
After the last war, Tony sent him back directly to home. May was there in their small comfy apartment. Sitting in the couch, with puffy red eyes. He could see traces of tears on her cheeks. Then she hugged Peter tightly, Peter was unable to breath at the moment, and she cried. She cried so hard Peter was also secretly crying because he was happy to meet his aunt again after feeling those awful experiences turning into ashes. Because of his spider senses, Peter was able to feel his death before he was vanished, and that was horrible. He could feel his bones was cracking, his heart was depressed, and his brain felt like it wanted to explode. Tony then told Peter if May was almost- almost killed Tony the minute she knew her nephew died in the space.
According to Tony, May was the third women he knew that could make him felt terrified. First was of course Pepper Pots, then the Black Widow herself. He didn't want May to threaten him any longer so he sent Peter home to his aunt. Peter gave him a tight hug before he left, then to his surprised, Tony hugged him back tightly Peter almost cry at that moment. It felt like his dad was hugging him, he felt like Uncle Ben was here again.
"So..." Captain America's voice was echoing through the common room. All the attention turned to him, arms crossed, looking straight at Peter. "You are that Spider-Man."
Peter nodded in agreement. He had to maintain himself from peeing in his pants because of the emphasis Steve given to him in his statement. They have met before, and Peter had fought the greatest Captain America. But he never knew how creepy it would be to talk to him face to face. Especially when he was not happy.
This time, it was Sam Wilson. Standing beside Captain America, arms crossed, muscles were shown. "How old are ya, kid?" Peter noticed the sound of annoyance from the same guy he had to fight in Germany.
"I'm sixteen."
"Sixteen?!" if Peter wasn't a huge fans of the Avengers, maybe he would frown at the other woman in the room. Wearing black shirt with red leather jacket, ginger hairs, and thick Sokovian accent. It was Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. She had disbelieved look on her face. The tall red guy stood beside her and rubbed his thumb to the back of her hands. The action seemed to calm her down a little.
