Adoption Paper

"Hey, it's mine!" Peter exclaimed, excited about something he found.

Tony snapped his head, looking at Peter's direction. He could not look at what the kid's found because Peter's back was on his sight. His hands was busy with bolts and wires, hands dirty with oil.

"What is it, kid? Tony finally asked, then turned into his half broken repulsor on the metal table. He had tried to make the repulsor to shoot faster and could refill itself after another shot.

"This," Peter twisted, facing Tony. Whose eyes was still focusing on his upgrading suit. He held an old paper, with a kids drawing.

Tony, who was finally able to take a look at what the kid's had found my frown at the sight. The drawing Peter shown was a very old gift from a kid Tony met eight years ago at Stark's expo. He put the tools on the table, arms crossed. Staring at Peter who was smiling brightly at him, still holding the paper. Peter was wearing a baggy white sweater which belongs to Steve and long grey sweatpants which belongs to Bruce, his hair was wet and messy. This evening, when Peter came into the compound he was all wet, because of the rain. Since it had not been weekend yet, so Peter had no clothes in the compound, so Steve and Bruce were willingly lent their clothes to Peter.

Today, Tony had personally asked him to help him tidy up the lab. Because Peter often came to the compound at weekend, Tony decided to give some space for the boy inside his joint lab with Bruce so the boy could also have his own personal office. They had cleaned up some old storage and old blueprints from Tony's projects long time ago packed it in boxes for Happy Hogan to throw it away tomorrow morning. It was Wednesday, so Peter did not have any clothes inside the compound. Even he had his own room in the compound, he never purposely left his clothes in his room. May said, it was not polite since he only came at weekends.

If Peter left his clothes at the compound, May thought, it was indirectly claiming if Peter was ready to live with the Avengers and left his aunt behind. May knew she was not supposed to act like that, Peter was a teenager, and some day he would grew up into an adult and May needed to be ready to let him go. Facing the world with his own hands. But May did not want to let the boy go, she loved her nephew so much. If she could, she would place Peter inside a bubble wrap and hid it in her wardrobe to keep the boy save and sound. Letting Peter hanging out with the Avengers was also the first step from May to prepare herself.

Since Tony was the one who invited the boy to come to the compound, he had asked Happy to pick up the boy from school. But something went wrong with the car so Happy could not pick him up. Peter suggested to take the bus instead, but when he went out from the bus, the rain started pouring. Unfortunately, Peter did not bring any umbrella, so he ran all the way from the bus stop into the compound, and getting his clothes wet from top to bottom. After changed, they began their activities with cleaning up the lab with Bruce following behind to help them.

There were currently only Tony, Bruce, and Bucky at the compound. The rest were on a mission. Usually, Peter borrowed Clint's trousers for him to wear, since the archery guy was on the mission and his body size was not too different from Bruce Banner, so the nerd doctor lent him his old trousers even though it was a bit baggy. While Steve's sweater, Bucky intentionally grabbed it from the captain's closet. Saying if Steve would not be bothered to borrow him his clothes.

The old man still staring at him, a mixed of expression showing in his face. He looked straight into Peter's hazel eyes, only to find a radiating of truth and love from an innocent little teen. He pointed out at the paper, "that was yours?" he asked the teenager again, only to be greeted by the nods from Peter.

"Yes. Mister Stark, do you remember a kid, wearing an Iron Man's mask?"

Tony nodded along. How could he forget? The insanely brave little kid who tried to block the robot's attack with his plastic imitation Iron Man's hand.
