It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining bright, the wind a slight cool breeze, the grass greener than ever, and the birds singing. It would be a shame for such a day to go to waste. There had not been such a day in many months as the long winter had recently come to an end.

Kaia thought to herself that this day would best be spent in the clearing she had long ago found in the forest. It wasn't far from her crowded cabin home, a too crowded home if she were asked, but it was far enough. The clearing was like a perfect getaway from the "grateful foster daughter" role she had been forced into with her 3 foster siblings running around. Not much time was left for her to be able to do what she wanted and loved. Almost no time at all. Thus, the clearing is where she went, in fact she did all she could to not run to it with too much excitement. Just as a precaution, you know? Far be it for someone to be watching her and find where she'd hide.

Arriving, she inhaled a deep breath of the fresh air. She let out a sigh in relief looking around at all the varying colours and kinds of flowers beginning to bloom, bending to smell the ones that already had fully bloomed. It was perfect. She really could be here all day if she could. Just out in the big open space, enjoying all that nature had to offer her. She couldn't resist starting to sing a song. She didn't care if she was a horrible singer or not. She didn't care how cliche and "Disney Princess" like it was, she was enjoying herself regardless.

She started twirling around the clearing, still singing to herself. It was truly the best day in a long time....well.....it was. She was mid jump in the air, belting out a long note when a beast appeared from nowhere. She stopped dead, staring as it stood 7 feet tall with black fur, glaring its big gnarly sharp teeth in a roaring growl. She ran, not thinking twice, and not looking back.

She had no idea as to where she would go. She had sweat dripping down and into her eyes, blurring her vision. Her legs were paining her, her breath now weak. No matter the pain, she couldn't stop, she had to keep going, and find safety. She had never been this far, she had no idea where she could go or even someone to aid her in stopping the beast. She ran and ran, searching to no prevail.

It was just before she was about to give up and surrender herself over to this thing chasing her that finally she found somewhere. A village. A village full of people now staring at her as if she were crazy as she burst through from the woods, panting.

One of the many people looking at her was Amara. Amara looked up from her portion of the crops at Kaia. She knew who Kaia was although Kaia did not know her. Amara had been waiting for this moment. For quite some time since she dreamed a premonition, she had been waiting. It had haunted her every dream for the last 3 months. She had come to the human world and cloaked herself to blend in with this particular human village just for this moment.

It was Lucien, that was the beast. She needed to bring him back where he belonged before his beast form did more damage then what could be recovered from. The test had been a failure. The test of putting Lucien with humanity to see if his beast form could be controlled had been a failure.

Poor Kaia was frantically looking around at all the people still staring at her. Her chest still rising and dropping rapidly in a pant. Why did they all need to stare at her so? Couldn't they see that she obviously needed help?

The beast chose that moment, in the middle of that thought, to burst through the clearing directly behind her. Everything happened so fast. The beast roared at her once again and then it lunged at her. Pain seared as the beast latched on to her leg. Through the pain and the tears she saw a small girl, mumbling something under her breath.

Amara had stepped forward, summoning all her power. She started to conjure the power circle she needed to send Lucien back home in this form, mumbling the spell. The beast roared louder as a circle, similar to hers, a circle of intricate designs and white light, with a flash of white light all around the beast disappeared.

Having completed her task, Amara herself was about to teleport out but her eyes fell on to Kaia. Kaia with tears in her eyes, screaming and writhing with pain with her leg almost completely torn off. Too much blood pouring out. There was nothing Amara could do to save her but yet, she couldn't just leave her.

"She was a simple pawn in my premonition, Lucien's failure...is she maybe more?" Amara thought to herself.

Amara could not resist. She bent down beside Kaia.

"Please......help......me." Kaia said weakly.

"Shhhhhh, it will be alright." Amara said.

Kaia looked at her with relief and passed out.

"In some way I suppose." Amara finished.

She put her hand on Kaia's arm and teleported them back to where she called home, wiping the memory of her and the beast's existence from the villagers.
