Kaia was somewhere, somewhere dark. How did she get here she wondered, and where was she?

Torches and candles all around the room lit up revealing her location. Well. Sort of. The how still unknown, a why now present but as for the where, she was in a large book filled room lit by the torches and candles.

"You are here for a reason dear child." The mysterious low voice from dreams before said. "You have been given another gift."

"Who are you!?" Kaia shouted.

"In due time young one, in due time." The voice said. "For now we have little time for me to pass along a message."

"For who?" Kaia asked.

"Amara and Lucien." The voice said. "You are the key to controlling the beast."

Kaia scoffed. If she were the key to controlling the beast then she wouldn't be here. The beast wouldn't have been able to attack her.

"It takes time, child. Everything takes time." The voice said. 'Listen to your heart and the chants within. There will come a day where they will be needed. Heed any warnings they may give."

With that Kaia jolted awake. She was surrounded by water. How? When? She did not know. Beside her Amara sat. Looking at her.

Amara sighed with relief at Kaia's eyes popping open. She reached out and put her hand on Kaia's forehead, her fever had broken. Thank the gods.

"Where am I?" Kaia asked.

"Your bath." Amara said."You were burning up."

Feeling embarrassed Kaia tried to cover up.

"Lucien?" She asked for fear that he was there and seeing her exposed.

Amara chuckled a bit.

"He's outside the door, standing nearby in case things had taken a turn for the worse." Amara said.

It was Kaia's turn to sigh in relief. She loosened up her attempt coverage (just by a bit).

"What happened?" Amara asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be the one with all the answers?" Kaia responded.

"Touché young one touché." Amara said. "However I have never seen anything like that before and I have been around a long time."

Kaia sighed, but this time not in relief. This time she was sighing in dread. Dread of having to try to explain just what she had been through. Dread at having to pass along what that mysterious voice had been telling her. All the while she had to hope that Lucien would not take it the wrong way. After all, she did not know him well.

""Pass me a towel, please." Kaia said. "I need to speak with you.....and Lucien."

Amara did what she asked and Kaia got out of the bath.

"Lucien." She shouted. "Would you be able to go into the other room? I need to leave the bathroom to get my clothing."

Kaia could swear she could hear Lucien blushing. If that was possible, in this realm who knew?

"Of course. I will wait on the couch if you don't mind me sitting." He said in response.

"Sit sit, relax." Kaia said.

This was awkward. Kaia felt like she was walking on glass, trying to avoid stepping on a piece that would pierce her foot. She didn't feel like this before the dream. She didn't fear setting him off. Why now?

She took a deep breath in and stepped out of the bathroom, going directly into her room to her dresser. She pulled out a simple white t-shirt, underwear, and track pants. She didn't bother with a bra. Still not quite feeling like herself. Exhaustion now taking its placed. Now dressed, she left her bedroom (as tempting as the bed was) and went to where Lucien was sitting and where she knew Amara would now be sitting.

"I don't mean to be rude but we will need to make this quick. I am still not feeling to great." Kaia said.

"We can wait until tomorrow." Lucien said with a look of concern.

Lucien could see the exhaustion threatening to take over Kaia. Whatever had happened she had been worn to the bone.

Kaia shook her head.

"The sooner the better. I am still not sure what happened but what I do know is that once more I was in a dream world with a mysterious deep voice talking to me." Kaia started explaining. "He said that I was the key to controlling the beast and that I needed to listen to the chants from my heart, or something along those lines."

Kaia's vision started dizzying. She needed to lie down and sleep. Her head started to pound. She was about to say something but Lucien was already up and swooping her into his arms.

"Talk more tomorrow Kaia, you need rest now." He said.

He then carried her to her bed where she instantly fell into a deep sleep.
