Amara and Kaia left Lucien's 'apartment' while thanking him for the hospitality. They wandered back down the hall to where they had come from. The room that Kaia had originally thought to be a hallucination.
"This room, you can imagine how you would like it to look and I will help you create it. In this realm possessions are quite simple to acquire. Simply will them into existence." Amara said.
Kaia thought about this for a moment.
"So you mean to say that I can literally have however big of a place I want, however I want?" She asked.
Amara laughed.
"Yes that is what I mean to say." She said. "One of the perks of being here I suppose."
"Well I'd say that's a pretty damn good perk." Kaia said.
Amara laughed again.
"I think you'll do just fine here." She said. "Any ideas of what you may want your place to look like?"
Kaia thought back to the little cabin like house her and her so-called family were living. Despite being cramped the cabin was actually beautiful but she desired something a bit different. She imagined what a place she could call home would like and whispered it to Amara. Amara then made it reality and it was beautiful.
Kaia stood in the centre looking around taking it all in. Amara had gotten every last detail perfect. It was an open concept small place. It had off white walls, a dark grey carpet. The living room and kitchen shared the same wall with an entryway to the kitchen facing the front door and the living room off to the side. Beautiful bay windows showed the clearing in the forest she loved so much even though it wasn't actually there. The couch underneath the windows was a nice light grey colour, the tv across from it on the wall that was shared by the kitchen. To the right of the front door was a small dining room with beautiful wood furniture. To the left of the front door was 2 rooms, one being the bathroom, and the other being the bedroom. It was gorgeous and it was hers.
Kaia hugged Amara with a big smile on her face.
"This is absolutely perfect!" She said. "I may not understand everything here yet but at least I can be comfortable and figure things out bit by bit."
Amara smiled. It was all she needed to hear. With that she was able to leave Kaia to enjoying her new home.
Kaia watched Amara leave. She wondered what she should do next. There were a number of things to choose from. She could watch TV, she could cook (something she never got to do for enjoyment before, always out of necessity and never what she wanted to make), she could sleep, or she could simply sing and dance. She sat on the couch for a few moments pondering a few things before she came to the realization she had much to sing and dance about. Despite how much she loved her foster siblings and worried....she was free from them! Free from the responsibility put on her by her foster parents, she was free from feeling like a slave in what was supposed to be her home. She would check on her foster siblings when she could but for now she would sing, dance, and enjoy her freedom. She had no idea what was in store for her but at least she had a place that was all hers and some people that cared about her even though they had only known her a short while. It was all she needed.
Outside Kaia's door, Amara could hear Kaia begin singing. The beautiful sound of her voice giving a calming effect. Amara then headed down the halls to her own place and began planning for the next day.
