After what had felt like hours of singing and dancing, Kaia slumped on to her couch. She liked the sounds of that. 'Her couch.' She giggled to herself at the thought of it. It didn't bother her that she was having a good time instead of worrying about her family. The guilt would hit her eventually but for now she just wanted to kick up her feet and relax.

She did not know when she had dozed off but the dream she entered was almost like it was meant to be. She appeared outside the door to her family's cabin. She could here the kids running around, her foster parents yelling after them. She looked to the side to see boxes and bags packed.

"Why were they packing?" Kaia thought to herself.

"I have found them a new home. A home with space for the children to grow and be happy. A place where your foster parents need not worry about funds or even housework for that matter."

Kaia turned to see Amara.

"What are you doing in my dream!?" She asked.

"Your subconscious shouted out to me. You needed to know what was happening with the family that you left behind before you could truly move on and be happy." Amara said.

Kaia couldn't believe what she was hearing. How was any of this possible? She knew what Amara had told her but somehow a miraculous turn around for her family was a bit too much to believe. How could the worst thing to have happened to her turn to be the greatest? She loved her foster family, she did not love the circumstances she had been in with them but she had still loved them. To hear they'd be taken care of, that they'd be better off without her made her sad. She wanted to be able to see them, touch them, hold them. Kaia began to cry.

Amara went to Kaia's side. She held her close.

"I know this is tough." She said. "I can't imagine the kind of pain you are feeling right now. I can't imagine a way to help ease this transition."

Kaia continued to sob.

"How is it fair that they are better off without me? Don't they even notice I am gone!?" She said between sobs.

"Your family will be looked after. They are NOT under any circumstances better off without you. Hunny, I would have made this happen even if you had survived the attack." Amara said. "You will be able to see them soon. Once we figure out how to harness your power and make your presence a bit more human you can come back to this realm and see them."

"H-h-how?" Kaia sobbed. "I'M DEAD!"

"Not to them you aren't." Amara said. "I forged a letter from a distant 'blood relative' of yours giving a fortune to you to take are of the family you found. I know there was no knowledge of your lineage but at the very least this gives you an alibi of your whereabouts. I created a letter from you as well stating that you were going to meet this person who bestowed the fortune upon the family. To thank them in person."

Kaia's sobs slowed.

"Sweetie, I will do everything in my power to make you at peace with everything that happened. To make you finally feel happiness. To feel part of something. It will be my mission, not because I have to but because I want to. You have a heart of gold and you deserve to put yourself first for once." Amara said.

"Thank you." Was all Kaia could manage to get out.

Her family would be well fed. She wouldn't have to brave the cold weather to hunt, she wouldn't have to hand wash all the laundry so her foster siblings had clean clothing to go to school with. No more sewing, no more trying to make her foster parents feel as if they weren't failing the family. She re-vowed her promise to learn everything she could. This time she promised this to herself to be able to see her family again and thank them for the identity they gave her.
