Amara rushed to Kaia's side as she collapsed. She put her hand on Kaia's shoulder trying to send energy through to her but it was not working. She looked to Lucien who stood looking concerned and as if he were debating on how close he should get to Kaia.

"Lucien! I need help moving her to the couch! Now is not the time to hesitate." Amara said.

Lucien still hesitated but he went to her anyways. She did not flinch like he had thought she would. Instead she almost looked relieved for the extra help in moving.

Once they had Kaia on the couch, she gave into the exhaustion and closed her eyes.

Lucien and Amara looked at one another and back to Kaia.

"Lucien, I have no idea how to explain any of this to her." Amara admitted. "I have no idea what my father intended leaving me in charge of something so important...."

"Everything happens for a reason Amara." He said. "I have to believe that."

Amara looked at him. How could she fail him? She had miscalculated, he hadn't been ready for journey to the human realm. She was the cause of the internal damage he now had. She was not ready for this job and she'd say it until she was blue in the face if she needed to.

Kaia started to stir in her sleep. She was in a dream land. In her dream land she was back in the forest clearing. She had felt like she had woken from a dream, not like she was in one. She bent down to pick up a flower but the flower just decayed at her touch. She tried picking another one and then another with no difference, they all decayed. She felt like curling up and crying she was so confused. How could her touch now destroy such pretty things?

"Try picking up one you have decayed young one." A deep voice said.

Kaia turned to see who had spoken to her but did not see anyone.

"Try it." The same voice said.

Kaia did as she was told and picked up one of the decayed flowers to see it turn back into the beautiful rose it had once been.

"You have the power to kill and heal, it will be a long battle to figure out how to control which it will be with your touch." The voice said.

"WHO ARE YOU!? What is going on here!? Show yourself!" Kaia shouted.

No response. Kaia then jolted awake, Lucien and Amara looking at her with concern.

"I can kill and heal...." Kaia said quietly. "Please help me understand."

Amara sighed, wishing words to come to her mind.

"Let me get us some tea." Lucien said, taking his leave to the kitchen. "Amara, just explain as best you can. You can do this."

Amara drew a deep breath in and took Kaia's hands into hers.

"Okay, Kaia, first I want to say I am soooo sorry." She said. "My father gave me this job and I really am no good at it. You deserve an explanation and I will do my best to give it. It may get confusing though.""

"Any explanation is fine." Kaia said. "I just need to know what I am and why I am here."

"A million dollar question." Lucien said returning with the tea. "For all of us that is."

"From the beginning then." Amara said.
