"Be patient." Lucien said. "That's all you have to say? Do you know how worried I am!? I'm the reason this is even all happening!"
His temper was rising. Patience was not something he was good at when he was concerned for someone's well-being. Especially Kaia's. She was a special case because she was only here going through all this because of him. There it was again, the guilt.
"Lucien, perhaps you should step outside for a moment. Collect yourself." Amara said, sensing the beast surfacing.
Her head was beginning to hurt. There was just too much happening. The beast was the last thing she needed to be added to it all.
Lucien took a deep breath in. He didn't need the beast coming around either. Not now. Not while Kaia was still so fragile. Not while Amara seemed so worn out.
"I'm fine." He said. "I'll make sure the beast doesn't come around, one way or another."
Kaia cleared her throat, standing in the doorway to her bedroom watching Amara and Lucien bicker back and forth.
"You know, the two of you bickering could raise the dead...." She said. "What is it that you are even bickering about??"
Kaia sauntered over to sit on the couch, she looked and felt a bit better. A little more clear of mind and she now knew her purpose and she was damned determined to now learn all she could. She would let Amara and Lucien bicker to no end over something most likely stupid and pointless. This being said she was not about to be rude. She would still ask before deeming it entirely stupid.
"I went to see my father today." Amara said.
Ok, well....maybe it wasn't stupid and pointless as Kaia thought.
"Ok...and?" Kaia said.
"It was about you." Lucien said.
"Ok...and?" Kaia said.
"How can you be so nonchalant?" Lucien said.
"Is it the end of my now eternal life? Most likely not. Is it most likely about my weakened state, my reciting a chant and passing out? Yes. Is it most likely about my abilities and how they are effecting me and what they mean? Yes." Kaia said.
Amara couldn't help but laugh. What had she done before Kaia? It was such short while they'd had her here but she was such a crucial part and someone they had clearly needed. Maybe her and Lucien were too serious. Kaia took things with ease and moved on. Maybe they could too?
"Well Miss Kaia, did you inherit mind reading abilities when you were brought back as well?" Amara said as sarcastically as she could.
Now Lucien couldn't help but laugh. All threats of the beast surfacing, gone. Who was Kaia? She had been no one but from the first time he saw her....he knew, just knew somehow she was someone of importance. Someone they needed in there lives. Maybe this is why the beast brought her here. Probably not but one could hope that maybe just maybe the beast did have a conscious.
"My father was not able to provide much insight to why you are weak or what anything means really." Amara said.
Kaia nodded.
"I know why I'm weak." Kaia said. "There is a lot I am to accomplish. The power I have battles with itself, exhausting me. I need to learn how to use it, to train it and hone it to how I want to be. In my dream world, as I will now refer to it as, I was told in some way that the chants were a key. A key to controlling the beast. That I am to be a key part of everything coming. It was hard to understand but this is my interpretation."
Amara sighed.
"That is a large burden for anyone. I myself have tried to control the beast. It is an impossible task. As for your other powers and the meanings that could be behind the chants we can go to the library. We will read and figure this out. When we aren't in the library we will train, physically." She said. "Kaia, Lucien, are you ready for this?"
They both nodded and all agreed that once Kaia was appropriately dressed they would get straight to it.
