Leena's POV

" So how's life ? " Lucas asked as he sat beside me in the basketball court. I shrugged as I lied back on the bench.

I looked over at him, " So how's it progressing ? " He looked at me in confusion but finally gets what i'm trying to say.

" It's okay, i'm planning to ask her to be my girlfriend this weekend. " I nodded even though my heart hurts so badly.

Imagine your crush is going to date your best friend and you just love the two of them and you can't be selfish even if you want to.

He threw his towel at me, " Why are you so moody today ? It's weird when you're not running around, screaming your head off. "

I chuckled, " I'm an extremely elegant lady who doesn't run and scream her head off. " I shot him a smile and he chuckled.

" Funniest joke i've heard in my whole life. " He said and I smacked him on the head and he glared at me.

He suddenly looked at me, " What does girls find romantic ? Do you think 99 roses would work ? " I shrugged.

" You're asking the wrong person, i'm not your typical girl who seeks for roses. I seek for food. " I winked and he laughed.

He took his phone out and I saw his lock screen, my eyes widened, " Dude, you like avengers too ? " He nodded as he looked at me with a wide smile.

We began talking about avengers the whole time instead of playing basketball. He should really stop acting this way, it's making me melt.

" I think you're hulk. " He said.

" Why ? Cause i'm amazing ? " I asked, batting my eyelashes even though you can't even see it from 1mm away.

He shook his head, " Because you're not my type. " He burst into laughter and I smacked his head, acting like i'm fine with it but nah.

" Hulk and I doesn't want to be your type either ! " He chuckled, even I have to admit my comeback is really bad.

I looked at him, " So who's your type ? "

" Superman. " He said.

" He's willing to sacrifice something so that his friend would be safe. He didn't want to at the start, or more like, he didn't expect himself to do that but he did it anyway. " He said.

He smiled, " It's really brave of him, not many people are able to sacrifice something of their's, especially if it's something precious to them to save someone else. "

" Deep. " I said and he burst into laughter, locking me in an arm lock.

" Your armpit smells ! " I smacked his arm continuously but he doesn't want to release.

Just then, I saw a pair of legs in front of us and we became silent and by us, I mean Lucas. " You guys are having fun, aren't you ? "

He released me immediately and by the voice, I could tell it's Soyeon. I looked up and I was right, she was holding onto a box.

" I wanted to celebrate your birthday with you but I guess Leena is here to celebrate it with you. " She smiled bitterly.

She gave him a card," I guess I'll not disturb you guys. Happy birthday Lucas. " She said and she walked away.

Lucas immediately stood up and ran after her, leaving me alone. Even though I low key didn't want them to end up together but I can't let them fight because of me.

I can't be selfish if it means letting two of my best friend ending up bring heart broken.

I took out my phone and message Soyeon the whole story, I explained that it wasn't Lucas's fault and she shouldn't be mad at him.

Just as I was messaging her, Lucas came back alone. He sat on the bench, " My plan this weekend is probably not going to happen. "

I looked over at him, " Dude, i'm going to fix this for you. I'm going to explain it all to her. " I stood up and was about to chase after Soyeon when he grabbed my wrist.

" It's not that, " He said as he looked at me, " I've talked to her just now but it's wrong. " I looked at him in confusion.

He looked into my eyes, " I realised I don't like her that way. " He said and I stared at him in disbelief.

" I was confused for a while, " He said as he stared at the other hand which is not holding anything.

I shook my head, " It wasn't a while, it's almost a week. " He glared at me and I kept quiet as I looked away.

" Anyways, I realised just because I think she's attractive doesn't mean I like her. My heart just doesn't race when i'm with her. " He said.

I scoffed, " I swear dude, if your heart doesn't race it means you're probably dead by now. "

He glared at me, " I'm sorry. " I said and he looked down at his feet silently.

" In the mean time, can you release my hand ? " I asked as I lifted my hand, " Wait, i'm coming to that part now. "

" What does my hand got to do with you and Soyeon's relationship ? " I asked in confusion.

He chuckled, " I don't want to let go of your hand, not now, not later, not tomorrow. "

" But I have to go home and you have to go home. The police might come for us because my mom is probably going to- "

He burst into laughter as he stood up and smacked my head playfully, " I tried to be all romantic but it doesn't work so i'm going to be straight forward now. "

He held both of my hands and looked straight into my eyes with his pair of mesmerising eyes, " I didn't want to let go of your hand because I want to be with you. "

" I realised the person I like is someone i've been together with everyday. " He said.

Honestly my heart was beating really quickly and I know what he's trying to say but no way i'm going to let him confess so easily.

" I mean, all of us do love our mom. " I said, holding in my laughter. He looked at me with a serious expression.

" I'm serious here Leena. " He said and I nodded.

He hugged me, " I like you, I like you more than I thought I would. "

" I like you too, Yukhei. "
