Lucas's POV

After that incident, i had to leave for Canada. I'm currently living here as a permanent resident and I doubt i'll go back to Korea anytime soon.

my mom kept in contact with leena's mom to make sure that she's fine and thank god, she is.

i'm a different lucas now, different in terms of the way i dress, the way i act and the way i am in general.

after lena's incident, i've never really forgiven myself for what i've caused. i admit, somehow i thought that escaping to canada would make me feel better but the guilt will forever be deeply buried inside of me.

" lucas ? " i turned around with a cold stare on my face, i used to be really interactive but not anymore. she walked over to me and gave me a hug.

i pushed her away, " what are you doing? "

" i just wanted you to like me, is it that hard? " i yanked her hand away as i glared at her.

" you can't force someone to like you and make everything your way. " i said as i stormed away as everyone stared at me, ditching the richest girl in school.

i went to the library where there's actual peace, or else you're probably kicked out of there. i took a random book from the wooden shelf and sat on a seat by the window.

i sighed, " maybe it's time to leave. " as i looked out of the glass window to see the field, with no soul insight.

i grabbed my bag and placed the book back onto the shelf, i walked out of the library to see this one girl standing by the notice board as she stared at it with full concentration.

she must've noticed my stare as she turned to look at me, " hi there. " she said with a smile as she waved at me brightly.

it can't be.

" i'm a new student here and it's compulsory to join an activity but i'm not really sure which is the best choice, do you mind helping me ? " she asked.

i walked towards her and every step i take, the faster my heart race. when i finally stand before her, she smiled at me and my heart melted.

" i'm really confused between basketball and netball. both of which are really cool and i'm good at both of them. " she said shyly as she scratched her head in embarrassment.

i nodded, " basketball would be a good choice. "

" that's good, i really like basketball. i'm not really sure who he is but there's this one guy that i used to like and we used to play basketball together everyday but he just vanished without any traces left behind. "

" i really missed him. " she said.

i didn't know how i should react to her, i really just wanted to give her a hug and pat her head like i used to but the guilt.

" oh, by the way, i'm leena. " she said with a bright smile, as if i didn't know my crush's name.

she stared at me for a second, " hey, you seemed really familiar. " i looked away and broke our eye contact, in hope that she'll hopefully forget me for good.

" never mind, i think i'm mistaken. " she said as she shrugged it off as i sighed in relieve.

she looked at the time, " i have to rush home now but nice meeting you- whatever your name is! " she ran further away and disappeared into the distance.
