Annabel's POV:

"Annabel, can you please come out and talk to me?" Calum pleads as he sits on the opposite side of the door, as he has for the past 2 hours. "Listen, I know you don't want to hear this, but this is the way things have to be from now on, so you might as well make the best of the situation because your stubborness isn't going to get you anywhere," he says, but I continue to give him the silent treatment; it's not that I'm necessarily angry with Calum, but I'm angry with the world and it's easier to be angry than sad.

"What have I done to have deserved this?" I blurt, finally speaking up. "I'd like to think that I've always been a good person; I always use my manners and say 'bless you' when others sneeze. I volunteer at the local animal shelter and I always donate my old books and toys to those in need," I share. "I don't deserve this; it isn't fair," I add. "I've been through Hell and back in my lifetime, but I can never catch a break," I exclaim, standing and once again growing angry. "I deserve some fucking happiness," I yell, punching the wall of the bathroom.

"Annabel..." Calum trails off.

"Everytime something good comes along in my life, it's ripped away from me and destroyed," I shout, punching the wall again. "I destroy everything and everyone I get close to," I pull my hair and fall to the ground, crying again; I'm an emotional wreck today, but who can blame me? Suddenly, the door opens and I look up through my tears at Calum. "How'd you open the d-door?" I sniffle.

"I've had a key the whole time," he admits, taking a seat next to me.

"Well, wh-what do y-you want?" I mutter.

"I want you to know that I think you're a good person and I don't think any of this is fair; you don't deserve it. And I especially don't think that you destroy everything and everyone you get close to," he replies, wrapping his arm around me. I nuzzle my head into his chest and inhale his smell of cologne and fresh linen, with a hint of honey suckle. We sit there like that for a good hour, until I feel my eyelids growing heavier and heavier. The next thing I know, sleep has pulled me under.

----

I awake on the couch, a blanket covering my body. I sit up and stretch out my arms, looking out the window, and noticing the sun has begun to set. "I'd say good morning, but it's the evening," Calum chuckles, plopping down beside me. "Are you feeling any better?" He wonders.

"I'm still overwhelmed, but I'll be alright," I reply, sighing and giving him a small smile.

"The rest of your things will be delivered tomorrow morning. Are you hungry?" He questions.

"I haven't eaten all day," I admit, nodding my head.

"One of the perks of living here, you'll discover, is room service; 5-star meals with the simple click of a button," Calum smirks, picking up the telephone from the coffee table in front of us.

"We'll have your best sushi platter," he starts. "Go all out, don't be shy," Calum adds. I can't help but smile at the fact that he remembers my favorite food. "So, what do you suggest we do tonight? Hiking in the Himalayas? Scuba-diving in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean?" Calum jokes.

"I think I'll just settle for a drink," I answer, running a few fingers through my tangles.

"I'll have them bring up our best bottle of champagne," He boasts.

"No," I reply immediately.

"Why not?" Calum furrows his eyebrows.

"Champagne is drunk in times of celebration and I have nothing to celebrate," I murmur, standing and heading to the bedroom to freshen up a bit.

Just before I shut the door, I faintly hear Calum mumble, "You have me."

Author's Note;

This chapter is cute, but it's short, so I'm going to either double update today or also update tomorrow!
