Annabel's POV:
It's 10:30 P.M. It's time. I am currently being dragged by Craig to the room where my most-feared punishment awaits; the electric chair. Although electroshock therapy is most commonly known as a standard psychiatric treatment to provide relief from mental illnesses such as depression, when in the wrong hands it can be used as a form of torture seeing as the procedure in general is painful and there can also be fatal side effects. "Please, don't do this to me," I plea as Craig pulls me down a hallway, ignoring my cries. "Let me go," I shout, flailing my arms around helplessly.
"Shut your trap," he barks, yanking my hair. A small whimper escapes my lips and I feel fresh tears sting my eyes as we approach the room my punishment will be taking place inside.
"Y-You can't d-do this to me," I protest, trying to sound confident.
"And why not?" Craig asks, smirking.
"Calum won't let you get away with this and you know it. He'd n-never let you hurt me," I sniffle, but I'm not quite sure if I'm trying to convince Craig or myself more.
"Is this the same Calum that has left you suffering here for over a week?" Craig inquires as we walk inside the room, a Bergonic chair placed in the middle. He pulls me over to it, strapping me into the chair roughly and exiting the room. That's when I notice the window of another room looking into where I am, scared beyond belief.
"Ready?" A menacing voice announces over the loud speaker in the corner of them room and I recognize it as Barry's. He turns a few switches and presses a button and as soon as he does, an electrically-induced seizure surges through my body, making me scream out in pain and somehow over my scream, I hear another scream; Calum's.
----
Through my hazy state, I hear multiple gun-shots and some sort of alarm ringing as a man unbuckles me out of the Bergonic chair and throws me over his shoulders, running to God knows where, but all I know is I'm getting dizzy and starting to develop a massive headache; my head is spinning and I feel my eyelids growing heavy until I pass out.
----
"Annabel, Annabel," someone whispers, waving their hand and wiggling their fingers in front of my face as I slowly open my eyes, rubbing them with the back of my hands. "Annabel, are you okay? How are you feeling?" The voice asks as my vision starts to resurface and clear. Kneeling beside me is a lanky boy with dark brown eyes and matching dark brown hair; he looks to be half Scottish and half Kiwi and seems to be around the same age as I.
"Wh-Who are you?" I blurt, sitting up slowly, but immediately falling back due to my heavy, pounding head. "Wh-Where's Landon? And where's Ella?" I inquire, becoming slightly nervous. The lad furrows his eyebrows, but doesn't answer me. "What's g-going on here? Where a-am I?" I demand. Did I mention memory loss is one of the fatal side effects of electroshock therapy?
Author's Note;
cliff-hanger ... DUN, DUN, DUN!
Anyways, I didn't realize how short this chapter is, so I'll more likely than not update again tomorrow :)
