Annabel's POV:
"Dr. Murkin, what's wrong with her?" The boy demands. That's when I am able to sit up and take a look around at my surroundings; I am in some kind of doctor's office, sitting up in a hospital bed which happens to be quite uncomfortable. Where are Landon and Ella?
"Excuse me," I speak up and both heads snap in my direction, both pair of eyes wide. "Can somebody please explain what's going on here?" I ask.
"Annabel, do you remember anything about what you just endured?" Dr. Murkin questions.
"What are you talking about? I haven't the slightest of ideas of where I am or who either of you are," I reply.
"You don't know who I am?" The lad murmurs, sounding hurt as he takes a step closer to me.
"Am I supposed to?" I retort, cocking an eyebrow.
"It's me, Calum," he starts. "We met at Java and then ran into each other that same night at Luke's. We've been living together for the past few weeks; I've been protecting you, doesn't any of that ring a bell?" He rambles, jumbling up his words.
I shake my head, "Protecting me? From what?" Calum sighs, turning to Mr. Murkin and giving him a knowing look.
"Annabel, please excuse us for a moment," Mr. Murkin apologizes, exiting the room temporarily with Calum.
----
Calum's POV:
"Mr. Murkin, why can't she remember me or anything that's happened since we met?" I cry.
"One of the fatal side effects of electroshock therapy is memory loss, Calum. It's not Annabel's fault that she's confused and can't remember you. I have to do a little more research, but right now all we can do for Annabel to resurface her memory is recreate important scenes for her through stories and maybe certain tangible items that will spark in her mind. You need to be patient with her," Mr. Murkin says.
"What about Landon and Ella? Who are they?" I inquire.
"That's something Annabel will have to tell you herself. Most likely, they're important people from her past; perhaps her parents? Old friends? Talk to her and find out and remember to record a log," he advises. "On the bright side, electroshock therapy is most commonly used to cure mental illnesses, so this therapy could've helped Annabel with her depression," Mr. Murkin adds, patting my shoulder and giving me a sympathetic smile. "Speaking of which, stop by the front-desk to pick up her medication on your way out, okay?"
----
"Annabel, we're going to pick up your medication at the front-desk and then go back to our suite and I'm going to try to explain everything to you, alright?" I check.
"My medication? For what?" Annabel asks.
"Depression," I murmur, leading the way to the front-desk.
"Kole," Annabel whispers and I nod my head, letting out a sigh; at least she hasn't completely lost her memory and at least I don't have to explain what happened to Kole to her. "Will Landon and Ella be waiting for us back at the suite?" Annabel questions.
"No," I mumble, signing a few papers as I hand the kind lady behind the front-desk Annabel's prescription and she fills it.
"Are they alright?" Annabel inquires, her voice hinted with slight worry.
"I'm sure they're fine, I'm more worried about you right now," I retort.
"Me?" She questions, furrowing her eyebrows as I nod my head. I pick up Annabel's medication and lead her to the elevator that'll take us to the floor our suite is located on. As we're riding up th elevator, I get a phone call and check the caller I.D. to see that it is Mr. Dannings.
