"My parents are unbelievable. Polly is locked up in that house like a character out of Jane Eyre and what are they doing? Changing each other's login accounts and throwing bricks through windows." Betty ranted. Last night she'd witnessed one of the worst fights her parents ever had, the stress really got to Alice and she threw a brick through the glass window of the front door to the family's new stand.

"Would've loved to see that." I said while Jughead snickered in the back.

"Y/N." Betty said.

"Sorry, not the time or place." I smiled.

"It's like you know how in a time of crisis, people either come together or break apart?" She was on the verge of tears.

"It's like we're falling apart. And the way things are going, pretty soon, the Coopers? We're not gonna exist anymore. And there's nothing I can do to stop that." She started crying.

"Betty! Don't do that. Don't give up." Jughead said.

"Your family is definitely splintering right now, but if it falls apart, that's not on you! You had no part in that. It's only Alice and Hal." I pulled her in for a hug.

"You're holding them together Betty. You're so much stronger than all of the white noise. You're stronger than your mother. You're stronger than your father. You're holding this family together. So don't" Jughead said.

"I won't." Betty pulled both of us in for another hug. Betty and I spit from Jughead to find Veronica. We stood and chatted at her locker until Kevin came up to us.

"Remember when you went swooping in to save Ethel because you thought she might be suicidal?" Kevin asked. Veronica looked scared.

"No-She-She didn't-" She got cut off by Kevin.

"No she didn't, but her dad did. He accidentally swallowed a whole bottle of sleeping pills. He's gonna be okay but-" Veronica started walking away, I followed a little bit behind her. She went into the girls change room. As I walked in the pearls went flying. She started to completely break down, I ran over and held her in my arms, trying to soothe her. Betty came in quickly after that. We kept glancing at one another, I knew exactly why she's either blaming herself or her family.

The whole day was just one big gloomy mess. Later Betty and I went with Veronica to give flowers to the Muggs family.

"Betty, Y/N, Veronica... Hey." Ethel said sadly.

"Mom these are my friends. Y/N, Veronica, and Betty." I waved politely.

"Mrs. Muggs, Ethel. We heard what happened, and we wanted to leave these flowers with you." Veronica handed the flowers to Ethel.

"That's very kind. Thank you." Mrs. Muggs said.

"Please don't thank me." Veronica said.

"We're so glad Mr.Muggs is gonna be okey. And we'll see you at school Ethel." Betty said trying to lighten the very dark mood. We turned around and started walking, then stopped.

"You don't need to do this V." I said. We turned back around.

"Ethel. Mrs.Muggs. There's something I need to tell you. My name is Veronica Lodge. My father is-"

"Hiram Lodge. Hmm. And you're showing your face here?" Mrs.Muggs said.

"Mom, she's my friend," Ethel said.

"She's not your friend. Her fathers a criminal. He's the reason dad did this to himself." Mrs.Muggs looked very unhappy.

"Ronnie? Is this true?" Ethel looked sad.

"Yes." Veronica said while nodding, I could tell she wanted to cry but was holding it in.

"And I'm so sorry. I wish I could do something." She said.

"Sorry" Isn't good enough." Mrs.Muggs said.

"You wanna do something? Tell the truth. Your father is ruining lives. He deserves to sit behind bars for the rest of his miserable life." She slightly raised her voice. She slowly walked away with Ethel. Betty and I basically dragged the stone cold Veronica back outside. I walked Veronica home, then Betty.

When I got to the southside. The trailer park. All that could be heard were the sounds of people smashing bottles or at least glass. I made it to my trailer without a problem, but at the same time, nothing could get rid of the sounds of the lonely men outside. Either left by wives or someone close to them, they could never be happy no matter how much they drink or smoke.

I sat on the floor in the corner of my small room. No matter the time, place, people, everything was and is changing. For the better, I'll have to find out. When I'm at Riverdale, I feel like I don't belong.

Jughead, Betty and I all stood around Archibald Andrews in the newsroom. He was talking about what more like who Mr. and Mrs. Blossom were talking about.

"Look at the banquet, I heard Mr. and Mrs. Blossom talking. It sounded like Clifford (The big red dog) Blossom was responsible for sending Veronica's dad to jail." Archie finished.

"Oh my god. If Clifford (The big red dog-sorry) Sent Hiram Lodge to jail, tore apart his family, maybe Hiram was trying to do the same to him?" Betty said. Jughead wrote something down on a speech card.

"Yeah, by going after what the Blossoms value most. Their family. Their legacy. That's a motive." Jughead said. He thumb tacked the card into the wall. In Jugs writing Hiram Lodge. The bell rang and we all made it to our classes. If you were to look out the window all you could see was the fresh white blanket that covered Riverdale.

My curiosity bubbled during this class. I wondered what else the Blossoms were hiding.
