Month Five, Year One

6:59AM

Silas travelled along the coastal road as the sun rose over the high hills of the Miska region allowing for a picture perfect-scenic view as the pinks and purples of the sky subsided for grey clouds. This trip was taking less time than Silas thought since he didn't have to contend with traffic and what was usually a thirty-minute drive was only going to take him fifteen, one of the weird things about the Event was that cars were parked along the roads and highways but they looked like they pulled over first.

He was heading up to Port Reich, a clone town of Whitefall being roughly around the same size with the same population before the Event, now it was an abandoned site where the only activity would be from the fauna and animals.

He had his window down letting in the salty ocean air flow with little concentration one the abandoned highway, instead his mind thought of the place where he was going which Silas hoped wouldn't be looted. He was on the search for weed looking to restock Michael with enough to survive winter and in Port Reich was the closest weed store.

Right now, the bond between the group were never stronger, Reye was working on ways to insulate the compound where everyone was going to stay during the thick of winter, Matt and Josh were constantly working on vehicles for the group whilst Michael, Liam and Chris were selling weed and any other medication that Silas brought to him and the rest worked on Malcom's farm helping to harvest it.

REEVE!!!

Hearing this sound Silas gaze drifted to the mirrors, another smaller two-door car speed up so that the vehicles could be next to each other, the girl in the other vehicle glared out the window trying to glimpse who was in the car as Silas done the same. Near instantly he realised that it was Natasha Worthington with her lush brown hair pulled back into a pony-tail wearing a warm-looking woollen jacket.

It was noticing that it was Silas, Natasha flashed a smile and held his gaze on her and never once did he break to look at the road. Revving her car's engine twice she sped-off darting further up the high eventually fading out of sight as she curved around the mountain side and by the time Silas came around, she was already out of view.

9:45AM

His heart pounded to the wail of the siren as he raced through the streets heading back to the police station, Dan's own tranquillity had been interrupted when the call came through and he was frantically obligated to drive like a manic to Cook St as everyone else who was out on patrol was doing the same.

The alert had come through that Jouse had escaped and was making his way down Cook St heading towards the docks with Shawn and Lachie on his tail as Dan drew closer, he was on one of the streets that linked to Cook St and any second now he expected to see Jouse run past.

Passing into Cook St and gazing to his right, Dan could easily see Jouse pacing down the middle of the main street as Lachie and Shawn trailed behind him but too far to be able to do anything, hopping out of the car and taking the shotgun with him Dan aimed it over the bonnet of the Land-Rover peering down the sight with his finger on the trigger but unable to squeeze it even as Jouse made his way closer and closer to Dan.

Those on the street were backed onto the walls of the buildings in fear of Jouse and his cannibalistic traits and with each street he passed more and more people began to scream out in fear worried that he would suddenly make a turn towards them.

'STOP!!!' Dan Garrett.

He shouted at the top of his lungs and heard it echo throughout Whitefall but unfortunately it did not deter Jouse in anyway, instead it gave him a boost picking up his speed as he charged at the police vehicle, Dan still with the gun pointing at him and within such close range could have easily taken the shot and there was a good guarantee that he would have hit Jouse.
