Month Seven, Year One

11:41AM

'Why is this happening?' Georgi Prescott.

Her voice was broken, her body was limp and her eyes welled up with tears. Georgi had been given a kingdom in freefall and there was no way to save it or even find some sort of silver-lining to everything that was happening. Below foot was a ground covered in white snow and dirt mixed together that crunched under the weight of a body whilst getting your shoe stuck in those gapping imprints.

Jacob's attention was on her for a moment, contemplating the look of lose on her face before looking back to what had brought them all here. The harvest rows before them looked sickly with a grey and black mould covering and eating away at the food, it was hard to find ones that hadn't been touched by this devouring horror but there were those who were trying.

Behind them was a thick crowd of thirty to sixty people all wearing coats and jumpers with comfortable work pants and boots, most even wore gloves because it was far too cold. Among them were Adam Kahn-Marx and Levi Manson whilst at standing close to the Student Council but a little apart was Christine Harriet. Among the entire crowd the signs of struggled were starting to show, some people's clothes did not fit as nicely as it should whilst others bodies, limbs and faces were amess of scars and bruises then there were those who just wore faces that had seen to many bad days. They all looked at the crops with the same looks as the Student Council, with the same dread and sorrow of the loss.

Dominic had noticed it when he came out to check on the workers who were bringing in the last of the harvest and now all the members of the Student Council here looking at this horror, he called it in as soon as the weather stopped its interference of the radio and Catelyn being the closest Student Councillor brought the bad news to everyone.

Most of the girls had fled into the Christine Harriet's farmhouse to let off a little steam and compose themselves before they would show themselves again, Georgi soon followed suite heading inside just to vent some anger and as soon as she opened the door sounds of crying came flooding out, echoing through the porch and out into the fields. Jacob and Dominic stood near each other but still with distance between them, neither had really spoke as friends or as Student Councillors but even they couldn't deny that this was a major blow and could feel the fear bubbling up inside of him.

The few crops they brought in would not supply them for long, a month a best and seemed that none of the crops from any of the farms had survived which meant they were back to canned and bagged food which was running dangerously low, maybe a week or two, the idea of the crops was to get everyone through winter and into next year but now they would be lucky to see the ass end of winter.

Left alone to ponder the situation Jacob and Dominic's thoughts done most of the speaking as their mouths became unable to move due to the shocking and dooming nature of their discovery, the first person to speak was Dominic but he only added to the disparity of the situation.

'Well building a wall won't fix this problem!' Dominic Marcuse.

The wall idea was a way for the Student Council to combat everyone's boredom by giving them a project that didn't really have any deadlines or even need to be done. The wall was going to encircle Whitefall from the stream to the sea it would protect them from animals at the least, he still felt weird that animals were actually roaming the street at night.

Jacob growled at the snip but he knew that Dominic was correct, after hearing about this most of the people who were still working on the wall would want to stop since no matter what they would all be doomed. It would also be smartest to stop them working since they would need to be fed more the more they worked, at this point nothing seemed to be working.
