Lisa always sees her in the window, her favorite spot, sipping her beverage for the day. It's been 6 months and her day is complete when she comes in, order her drink, and persively stares out at people walking past, just happily watching her from afar.
And today is no exception
"Hi...."she comes in and looks at her name plate"Lisa...can i have.."
"Cappuccino? The usual?" Lisa asked smiling.
She looks at Lisa in the eye and smiles "No, i'm going for Mocha frap today," she then look at her name plate once again "Thanks, Lisa.
Lisa smiles but it does not reach her eyes.
It has been months since you've been going in and out of this coffee shop and you still don't know my name, Jennie.
This happens again for the next few weeks thereafter. Lisa is frustrated and wants to atleast be friends with Jennie but she just sees her as the girl who serves her coffee.
That day she approaches the counter, Jennie's smile is radiant "Hi..." She looks at Lisa's name plate "...Lisa"
"Are you going to have your usual?"Lisa asked.
I hope we can be friends this time.
"No...please give me the sweetest coffee you have for today,"
Lisa looked at her confused.
"Sweetest?"
Jennie smiles, "Yes, you see....I already have a boyfriend...finally" Lisa looks at her, crestfallen. "Aren't you happy for me?"
"Uh--i-i am.... of course i am..." Lisa hands her the beverage "Enjoy.."
Over the course of the next few days she sees Jennie laughing with him, sitting by her favorite spot.
"Jealous?" Chaeyoung, her co-worker tells her and she just smiles. Lisa sees Jennie laughing with his jokes while subtly touching his arm. "Lisa, relax!" Chaeyoung says while tapping her. It was then when she sees the crushed cup in her hand. The bell dings and she sees that Jennie and her boyfriend left.
She hasn't been in the coffee shop for a week now and it worries her. Lisa tries to busy herself with work when she hears a familiar bell, hoping it's Jennie.
She smiles when she sees Jennie, but only to be replaced by irritation at her tear-stained face."What will you be having for today, Jennie?"
Jennie looks at her and sniffs."Tea please."she say as she sits by her favorite spot,
Lisa prepares her tea and walks over to hand it to Jennie "Is there anything else?"
"Nothing..."Jennie says meekly, Lisa begins to walk away when Jennie whispers."Can...can you sit with me, even for a while?"
Lisa looks at her as she sits infront of Jennie.
"What happened?"Lisa asked.
"Am i ugly?"
Lisa frowned "Don't ever....ever think that you're ugly Jennie, because you're not."
Jennie looks at her as tears fall in her eyes.
"I saw him. I saw Taehyung in bed having sex with his friend... I don't know,. I... i think that's why, that's why..." she didn't even finish her word as she sobbed harder.
Lisa watched Jennie cry, only aware that her knuckles were white as she clench her fist the whole time.
That son of a bitch.
The coffee shop closes way past midnight since she waited for Jennie to calm down and makes her promise that she's going to be okay.
Lisa walks home and sees him, the son of a bitch who broke Jennie's heart. She calls him and the fucker looks back.
"You'll regret hurting her, you asshole!"she said before attacking him.
Moments pass and Lisa finally limps to her apartment, a smile on her face. She opens the door to her room and turns the light on. She looks at her wall and smiles, her face palstered over it. She caresses her collection of cups she collected all these months, Jennie's cups.
Lisa smiles as her eyes become dark while setting down the bloody knife she was holding.
"Someday you've gonna learn to love me, and you'll see me. Only me, Jennie."
