~~Jennie had unknowingly placed her world upon Lisa's shoulders. The burden weighing heavy against her heart. Lisa takes it without complaint as she reaches out for Jennie's hand; grasping, holding and never letting go.
Jennie met her inside a coffee shop, in the far end of the corner with a streaming cup of liquid gold and tear-stained cheeks. Lisa sat on the other table with a book propped against her face, her eyes seemingly entranced with this girl in the corner of the room.
Jennie was beautiful, with an air of sadness and familiarity she couldn't put a finger on. She knew it wasn't her place but she could feel her heart beating wildly in her chest, desperately wanting to be near her.
She didn't know she was what Jennie needed at that time. She also didn't know she'd met her in a seemingly different lifetime.
Her feet seemed to have a mind of its own as she walked towards her, her hand clasped tight beneath his jacket.
Jennie's eyes were wide as she watched her sit down on the empty seat across hers casting apprehensive glances up at her. Lisa shrugged them off as she smiled at her and she blinked, caught blind by the happines on Lisa's face. Jennie's lips curved up unconsciously in a small smile and Lisa grinned, her heart feeling full at the light upon Jennie's face.
"You need to smile more often, it suits you" she murmured reaching out to offer her hand. "Lisa."
Jennie sniffled as she looked up at her shaking her hand softly."Jennie,"she whispered, their fingers dancing with electricity the moment they touched. "Thank you, i needed that."
"Needed what?"
"Someone to make me smile,"she admitted chewing her lip nervously."I haven't done that in a while."

Jennie was not easy to love. Lisa knew that, the moment Jennie allowed her to see what her heart looked like.
She was wind and ice an avalanche of sadness Lisa didn't know how to contain. Jennie was everything she knew nothing but she wanted--no, she needed to love because she could no longer feel herself being the same after falling in love with Jennie.
She wasn't easy to love. No, she was not, but she loved her too much that it didn't matter anymore.
"It's okay if you get tired," Jennie told her one evening over half-rumpled tissues and an empty tub of ice cream."I won't get mad."
"And who says that i will get tired?"Lisa replied, wiping away an errant tear from Jennie's cheek." I promised to love you--"
"Even when it's hard, even when its rough,"Jennie finishes for her smiling sadly at the girl who sat with her through all this pain."But Lisa..."
"What?"
She pulled away her jacket and lifted her arms out to Lisa, showing her the marks of all her sadness and pain. Lisa's eyes are wide in surprise but she looks at her tenderly, silently asking her if she could hold her. Lisa presses her lips against Jennie's skin and her tears fall without warning, her cold heart burning in her love. For the longest time, Jennie wonders if the only reason she hold on was because of Lisa.
She didn't know it, but she's been holding on because of Lisa's love.
"I sometimes feel that i'm too sad to face this world," Jennie mumbles and she could feel the tips of Lisa's fingers tracing the lines of all the anger and pain."That you deserve someone who could give back to you more than this, someone who could do things for you without having to shed tears everytime she feels like nothing is ever going right."
"But i want you,"Lisa tells her patiently, softly."There's nothing hard on how love you. I get to choose who i love and i will always choose you."
"But why?"
"Because..."Lisa lifts her fingers against Jennie's lips, tracing the lines of her cheek. She traced the gentle slope at her nose and her lashes and she presses her lips softly against her lips, the gentlest of kisses that she could muster."Someday, i want to be able to see you smile. And i want to see it because i loved you enough to smile like that."

Jennie had unknowingly placed her world upon Lisa's shoulders, the burden weighing heavy against her heart. Lisa take it without complaint as she reaches Jennie's hand; grasping, holding and never letting go.
But she is glad that Lisa never let go--even when everything seemed like her sadness had weighed heavier than all the love she could give.
Jennie was inside the coffee shop waiting for Lisa when she felt it. That slow burn, the heat slowly searing through the cold sadness that she was long gotten so used to. She felt it the moment she saw her profile against the storefront window, eyes meeting hers in this busy little world they've been in. She could feel it melting, slowly, like an icicle finally meeting the warmth of the sun in the springtime.
Jennie allowed herself to finally fall in love. She suspects she's long been in love, she just didn't know what it was.
Lisa sat across from her the same way she first met her few years ago. Lisa smiled at her and she smiled right back, bigger and brighter this time.
"Hi," Lisa says, smiling brightly at her."Good day?"
"Yeah,"Jennie nodded, patting the seat beside her."Come, sit here."
Lisa makes her way towards Jennie's seat, her lips falling open surprise when Jennie wraps her arms around her, kissing the skin beneath her jaw. Lisa stares at her in disbelief and amazement. And for the first time, she laughed boisterously and without abandon, something Lisa been longing to hear.
"I love you, you know" Jennie tells Lisa, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world."Im sorry it took so long. But thank you."
"For what?"
"For loving me,"she said, pecking Lisa's lips."And for saving me when i thought nothing else could be saved."
