Vanth's path to power

In the morning Katie had woke everyone up and gave everyone some sort of tool to work. She gave us certain stations to work at. Me and Janice got seperated with where we were working. Katie assigned another girl named Liz show me how to do things in my station. 

"Follow me" Liz said. 

"Like I have a choice" I said. She just shrugged her shoulders then. 

After she showed me around and showed me everything I needed to know we got to work. "I'm sorry. About your sister I mean. I happened to be outside when it happened. I know you can make it though" Liz smiled at me. 

"She could have took me with her though. I mean it would have been better then this" I said. 

"Well the fact that she sacerficed herself for you though. Dosen't that tell you how much she meant to you. Some of us don't really have that" Liz said. 

"Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you or anything" I said. 

"You didn't, I just try to look at the bright side of things" Liz told me. 

"What's the bright side of being here?" I asked. 

"We get a roof over our heads. Some of us get food more often. It may not be much but it's better then nothing. With all the royal people taxing us all the time we barely have enough left to take care of other things so far" Liz spoke. 

"Yeah, I guess so. I didn't think of it that way" I said. 

"There's always a bright side to everything" Liz smiled slightly. 

"I guess so" I said. 

"You'll understand a little better when you grow up" Liz smiled at me. 

"Guys don't you think we should work more and talk less" a girl asked. 

"Please, I can take Mrs. Vampire" Liz said rolling her eyes. 

"Oh yeah, then what are you still doing here" The girl challenged. 

"Just bidding my time" Liz answered. 

"Sure....We'll go with that. As long as you want to believe that" The girl spoke. 

"You know the irony is your the one who said we should be working and not talking and yet what are you doing now?" Liz asked. 

I laughed softly then. 

"Whatever, let's just get to work shall we?" The girl asked. 

"Just waiting on you. Your the one distracting me" Liz smiled. 

The girl returned her rolling eyes with some of her own. 

"Well she does have a point. We haven't been working a whole lot. If you think about it though the faster we work the faster we get out of here" I said. 

"I don't know. They are evil and it's not like they seem to have any good morals" Liz said. 

We continued working until about lunch time then we returned to the cells. 

"So how was your first day?" Janice asked me. 

"It was okay I guess" I answered. 

"Yeah, you'll get used to it though. I promise" Janice smiled. 

I sighed then. 

"What's wrong?" Janice asked. 

"I just wish there was some way I could free everyone here" I said.
