"It's hard to believe what your heart says, but most of the time, it's the truest thing you'll ever feel about a person."
"Anastasia!" A voice rung in the air, resounding off the walls in the hallways. School has ended, and the hallways have emptied; only a couple of students loitered around the campus. Ana turned around and saw Danielle running with her arms stacked tall with books. Her long honey-brown hair flew behind her like a cape to her head. Her pink jacket was on her, as always. Danielle stopped at Ana's locker, panting and, well, trying to grin. "I have good news!" Danielle's eyes sparkled as if someone had dumped a bottle of glitter into her already too bright blue eyes, which made Ana feel slightly dizzy. Bright and shiny things aren't really her type of things. A small wave of nausea hit her. Placing a hand on her locker, Ana smiled warmly. Maybe she did feel dizzy; she hasn't eaten anything since the dinner she had with Zachary yesterday.
"What is it?" Ana asked.
"Well, didn't you know? I thought the news has been running viral. It's about this really really really cute guy...." Danielle wiggled her eyebrows, smiling. Ana looked surprised; it's the first time Danielle actually told her about a guy. Danielle has all the good looks any girl would desire to get just to swoon the guys. It's not surprising for almost the entire school's guys to be chasing after her. Well, not only she's got the looks; her charismatic and bubbly character, paired with her brain that could possibly store a hundred terabytes - she's basically an angel from heaven. Danielle knew this, and she has been and will be very cautious about her choice of male friends.
Danielle and Anastasia got to know one another in a very special place - the library, also known to them as their 'second home'. What could be a better place than to have a haven of books awaiting for you to explore and venture deep into the vast spaces of fantasy and adventure? Also because they both share a common interest in reading. Ana smiled internally at the memory when they first met. She was reading a Harry Potter book when Danielle approached her and started introducing herself to Ana, asking her if she was a Potterhead.
"Yeah, I am." Ana replied.
"Ooh! Are you a Ravenclaw?" Danielle whispered eagerly.
"I'm a Gryffindor supporter...." Ana trailed off, half-interested in the conversation. She didn't mind the conversation with Danielle, really, but it's not the right time to talk to her at that moment. Especially now. Danielle seemed to get the hint and sat quietly beside her, looking over Ana's shoulder while she read.
If she could describe her in one sentence, she would say that she's the most intelligent, admirable and patient woman she has ever meet.
"Yeah, what about him?" Ana said, fumbling for her keys to unlock her locker. Old-school days. As Danielle was cheerily telling her what has happened during the day, she reached into her locker and felt a piece of scrap paper. Frowning, she pulled out the note and opened it. What did the buffalo said to his son before he left for college? (Bison! Hahahah!) Enjoy your day. Z.
Ana chuckled, halting Danielle's storytelling. Danielle snatched the note from her hands and pouted. "Hey, you aren't listening to me..." Danielle read the note and smirked. "An admirer, I see. Cute." She winked at Ana. Anastasia swiftly yanked the note from Danielle's hands and shoved it into her pocket, her face red. She would figure out who it could be later, and how that stranger managed to smuggle a note into her locker locked.
