"Don't look for heaven in the same people who gave you hell."
Danielle.
Danielleeeee. Zachary texted, bouncing his leg impatiently. His heart was palpitating at an unusual speed. Perhaps because Halloween was arriving, and he had a plan to spend the day with Ana. It might not be the ideal plan, but he hoped that she would like it. Or at least she could appreciate for his effort. He's been planning it for the past two weeks exactly before Halloween. If anything out of the plan happens, it would rip his heart into pieces - all his effort would be lost.
What. A message popped up in his phone, snatching his attention right away. His thumbs flew all over the letters on the keypad, quickly typing out a reply before she goes offline.
Could you ask Ana if she's free on Halloween? He sent the message, crossing his fingers tightly and prayed for the best.
Can't you ask her yourself? You have her number right?
I want to give her a surprise.
She replied a minute later.
You owe me one.
Many ones.
You don't say.
Give me a moment. Danielle went offline and he let out a small sigh, drumming his fingers on the table out of nervousness and anticipation. The next second, his phone vibrated and he shot out from his seat for his phone, as if someone was after his phone.
She said she had something on.
"So much for my plan," he grumbled as his heart sank.
But.
His hopes rose again.
She said she could postpone it.
Oh. What does she have on that day?
She wants to cycle.
Pfft.
That's alright. I can tweak my plan to suit hers as well. Thanks a bunch dude.
Whatever.
Zachary pushed himself off his chair, whooping in delight. If he had remembered clearly, her birthday falls on Halloween's. Well, it wouldn't hurt to confirm again, right?
Hey um
Mind if I ask you a little something? Zachary was surprised to see her already online. Who was she texting? No. It's none of your business. Stop it.
Right at that moment, Ana read his message, which made his heart soar. It was odd to feel that way; it has been ages since he had felt this way for a girl. The last time he felt like that was in middle school, and that wasn't even counted as an official relationship - it was a hopeless infatuation with that girl that he never got a chance to speak to. All he could only do was to admire from afar. However, thus time, he was going to gather up all the courage he has. So far, it definitely has been going smooth. Coincidentally, the school is going to organise a Halloween party for the students in the campus, which served the perfect moment to sneak out while everyone's having fun. This time, no restaurants. It shall be something special. He reminded himself, opening his closet to see what he can wear on that day. Sadly, his closet was filled with monotoned colours - black, gray, and a couple of white long sleeved shirts.
