I woke up the next morning to the sound of Spinner’s alarm clock then realized I was in his room sleeping beside him. What happed last night, I thought. Spinner got out of bed in his boxers and looked over at me. He was laughing.
“Don’t worry nothing happened last night, we just got home really late. You fell asleep in the car so I carried you up here. Sorry, I was too tired to make it to your room.” Said Spinner. That explained a lot.
“Go back to sleep, you got about another hour till you should be up.” Continued Spinner as he left to take a shower. I closed my eyes and fell back asleep.
“Rose, where are you?” shouted Baylee. I didn’t want her to think anything happened so I hid under the covers.
“I’m in here.” I whispered. Baylee opened the door and looked shocked.
“Oh my god!” She screamed.
“Baylee, it isn’t what it looks like I promise. I thought it was too, but Spinner promised it wasn’t.” I said. Baylee took a deep breath.
“Get ready for school.” She said as she walked out of the room. I ran into the shower. Was Baylee mad at me or just shocked? I couldn’t imagine what it would be like if Baylee was mad at me. She holds harsh grudges. I got out of the shower and went to my room to get dressed for school. From the closet, I grabbed a torn red shirt and black pants. I got changed and left my room with my backpack.
“Let’s go.” Said Baylee as we left the house. We got in the car and drove to school. The awkward silence began to annoy me. I finally had to say something.
“Sorry about this morning. I swear nothing happened though.” I said.
Rose, don’t worry about it.” Said Baylee.
“But I have to because I feel like you’re uncomfortable with it.” I said.
“What would make you think that? I had Gabe over in my room the other night.” Argued Baylee. I didn’t know why I was still talking.
“You just seem quiet.” I said as we pulled into the school. Baylee unlocked the doors and I got out. As I walked to the door, I saw Gavin.
“Rose, you never called me.” Said Gavin as he put his arm around me. I totally forgot, but I didn’t want him to know that.
“I had this whole plan to wait three days and lead you on.” I flirted. Gavin smiled.
“Are you working after school?” asked Gavin.
“Yes.” I said.
“Let me give you a ride.” Said Gavin. Spinner’s shift starts earlier so I did need the ride.
“That would be great.” I said as we got to my locker.
“Great, I’ll meet you here.” Said Gavin as he removed his arm from around me and walked away. I grabbed my books and headed to class.
