I got to the pizza parlor and took a seat. Gavin came in and hugged me then he sat down.

“What did you want to talk about?” I asked.

“Well… I want to give you a chance.” Said Gavin. I was very confused and stayed quiet.

“Do you want to go out with me?” asked Gavin. My mind was telling me to say yes because it’s what I had wanted since I was little, but my heart was telling me no. Would it hurt if I gave it a shot, I thought.

“Umm… I barely know you. All I know about you is you’re a jock who I’ve gone to school with forever and we work together.” I said.

“We could be wise and use that to an advantage to get to know each other.” Said Gavin. That sounded like a good excuse, but not good enough.

“Graduation is three months away and then we would have the summer so being in a relationship to know it will end in September when we go our separate ways, is pointless.” I said sounding like a total bitch afterwards.

“That’s a good point.” Said Gavin. I got up to leave feeling like this trip was pointless.

“Plus, why would I want to be with a guy who I know in the end will just wind up breaking my heart. That’s just setting me up for failure.” I said walking out of the pizza place and heading home.

When I got there, everyone was packing Baylee’s belongings into his car. I ran over to help. It was sad to see Baylee go, but it was for the best. Spinner and I said our goodbyes to them. Then we went inside.

“What are we going to do with all the room? Two free bedrooms.” I said.

“Are you moving out too?” asked Spinner as he put his arm around me.

“No, but I was thinking we just share a room since I’ve been sleeping over.” I said.

“Well… we could always sell this place and get a smaller apartment. It would be cheaper and I don’t think we want to have a new person living in our place.” Said Spinner as we went to his room. I changed into the clothes I slept in last night and slid into bed beside him.

“Baylee told me he is a realtor so he could set us up somewhere, quick and easy.” Said Spinner. I wanted to stop by tomorrow and see her after work.

“Let’s go tomorrow, I’ll tell Kevin you got sick. I have the day off from Shop Rite so I’m good. After my shift at Starbucks, I will pick you up.” Said Spinner as he turned off the light. We kissed to the point where we made out and we didn’t go further than that. It was too soon. Afterwards, we went to sleep.

The next morning, Spinner was already gone to work. I woke up to the sound of my alarm from the other room. I went to turn it off and headed into the shower. When I got out of the shower, I realized with Baylee gone who would drive me to school. Spinner took the car. I got my phone out and called Gavin.

“Before school can you meet me outside the pizza place from last night, please?” I asked.

“Why?” asked Gavin.

“I need a ride to school from now on.” I said.

“Yeah ok see you in ten minutes.” Said Gavin. I hung up on him and threw clothes on. I grabbed my backpack from my old room and slid my phone inside then headed out the door.

Gavin was already there waiting, I jumped into his car with his friends.

“Dude, why are you picking up this loser?” asked one of them.

“Does she even go to our school?” asked another. I ignored them as we drove.

“Yeah she goes to our school. I work with her and asked her out last night.” Said Gavin.

“Why the hell would you date a loser like that? You are a jock, you can date any chick you want.” Said one of his friends.

“Well this chick rejected me last night.” Said Gavin. I didn’t understand what he was trying to do.

“Loser, do you understand how lucky or how cool you would be if you went out with Gavin?” Said another jock.  Were they trying to guilt me about this? I was getting irritated. Gavin just kept driving.

“Look we all are graduating soon, we will be lucky if any of us stay in contact.” I said.

“He can get any girl he wants and he chose you. That’s huge.” Said a guy. We pulled into the school and parked. I jumped out of my seat on to his and kissed Gavin. He kissed me back. The rest of the jocks got out of the car. I didn’t know what had gotten into me, but I liked it. It felt wrong because I was with Spinner, but it felt right because I was giving my mind what it’s been waiting for. Maybe Spinner will never find out about this, I thought.

Gavin opened the door and we got out of the car. He put his arm around me as we headed into school.

“So are you changing your answer from last night?” asked Gavin. I wanted to say no, but I couldn’t. This was only the beginning and I’m having lots of fun.

“Yes.” I said. I knew it was wrong because I didn’t want to hurt Spinner, but I couldn’t say no. Gavin kissed my forehead.

“I will meet you here and pick you up for work later.” Said Gavin.

“No actually, I can’t go to work today. I have family stuff.” I lied.

“Ok.” Said Gavin as he kissed my lips. I opened my eyes and saw Brittany looking at us. Was he using me to get back at her? I pulled away and grabbed my books for class. Gavin walked away. Asking him if he was using me would make for an awkward conversation.
