At the end of the day, Gavin gave me a ride to work. I didn’t know how to tell him I wanted to end our short “relationship”. It will be like ripping off a bandage, I thought. When we got to the parking lot after Gavin and I made out, I sat perfectly still.
“We need to talk.” I said.
“About what?” asked Gavin?
“I… I think we should end this relationship.” I said.
“Why? Does this have to do with Brittany?” asked Gavin.
“Nothing to do with her. There’s someone else.” I said.
“Ok... do you want to end it?” asked Gavin. My head was saying no, but my heart was saying yes. So far my head has gotten me into enough trouble.
“It’s for that someone else’s best interest. I don’t want to hurt them.” I said. Gavin put his arm around me and leaned closer to me.
“What they don’t know won’t hurt them, right?” said Gavin.
“Right.” I whispered as my lips fell onto his. After we kissed, we walked into work and started our shifts as usual.
At the end of my shift, Spinner surprised me and walked me out. When we went to drop off our work shirts in Kevin’s office.
“I’ve missed you so much today.” Said Spinner as he surprised me with a kiss.
“I missed you too.” I said kissing him back. Gavin walked in and saw us. He removed his work shirt and exited. I didn’t want to create a scene so I pretended like Gavin never saw. We walked out of the office and headed home.
“I started packing a little today.” Said Spinner as he put his arm around me.
“Great.” I said.
“What are you going to do about NYU?” asked Spinner. I never thought about it. I guess I could enroll late somewhere closer.
“I can apply late somewhere else. Where will you apply to?” I asked. Spinner was going to go to NYU as well, now what will he do?
“I started looking and applying for the both of us. Becker College, Clark University and Framingham University. I think Framingham is most likely.” Explained Spinner. I loved how he was so in charge. It made me relaxed. I was a little devastated about NYU, but was up for an adventure.
“Nice.” I said. We pulled into the apartment. Spinner jumped out of the car. I sat still and wanted him to leave because I wanted to call Gavin.
“Aren’t you coming?” asked Spinner.
“Meet me up there, I just need to check my bag for something.” I said. Spinner walked upstairs. I took out my phone and called Gavin.
“Hi.” I said.
“What?” asked Gavin? He sounded angry.
“Wow, are you made at me?” I asked.
“You lied to me and said it wasn’t Spinner.” Said Gavin.
“I’m sorry.” I said.
“You know what, I don’t want to be your secret affair.” Said Gavin.
“What happened to what they don’t know won’t hurt you?” I asked.
“Yeah, well that was until I became the one getting hurt. I’m done with you.” Said Gavin and hung up. It didn’t hurt, but I felt it should’ve. I got out of the car with my stuff and headed upstairs.
When I got upstairs, Spinner was packing up stuff and sighed.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“We can’t take all this stuff. A lot of it we don’t even need.” Said Spinner.
“We can sell some stuff at a sale.” I said.
“Great idea, Baylee can run it because she had to quit her job at the tattoo parlor.” Said Spinner. I never knew she quit.
“She quit?” I said confused.
“Yeah, Gabe told her that it wasn’t a good idea because she is carrying his kid. The tattoo place doesn’t do maternity leave so she quit. All she is doing is sitting in the studio and at every chance she gets, takes a job. I will give her a call later. Go figure out what you want to sell.” Explained Spinner. I dropped my bag and went to pick out some stuff to sell. All the bed stuff could be sold. Spinner came in dropping off some boxes for my clothes to put in keep. I started packing up my things. This was a lot of change all happening so soon. What about finishing high school?
“Spinner, if we are moving at the end of the week how will I finish high school?” I asked.
“Ah, I already made phone calls and you start at the public school in Worcester on Monday.” Said Spinner.
“Ok.” I said.
“I got off the phone with Baylee. She said just leave whatever we don’t want at her house and after she sells it, we will get a check.” Explained Spinner.
“Ok.” I said. Off the top of my head, I knew of furniture and objects I can sell.
