16: This Is How I Disappear

Kira~
"Kira!" Courtney screeched into my ear as she walked up to me.
        "Yes?" She handed me a card.
        "I'm having an end of the year party on the last day of school and I want you to come!" She smiled and I gave a fake smile back.
        "Of course! I'll check my schedule." She squealed and bounced off. I stuck it between books as the bell rang.

I walked out of school and headed home. The March air was pbiting at my face. When I walked into the house, I stomped the snow off of my boots before going up to my room. I pinned the card to my board and set my books on my desk. I sighed and sat down, staring at the ceiling. Someone knocked on my door and I sat up straight.
        "Come in." I was hoping it wouldn't be Gerard and it wasn't.
        "Hey, Kira." It was Lindsey.

        "Hi." I looked up at the ceiling again as Lindsey sat on my bed.
        "I know you trust Gerard more and that's okay but I wanna know if you're okay? You never seem to talk to us anymore and Dean and Lizzy are never here and you seem to isolate yourself." I sighed and looked at her.
        "Dean just spends a lot of time with his friends and Lizzy's been very busy with school stuff. I'm fine." I gave Lindsey a fake smile but she seemed skeptical.

        "Well, alright." She stood up and looked at my board, seeing the the invite courtney gave me. "Who gave you that?" I looked at it and back at Lindsey.
        "Courtney. She started school back in January and hangs with Lizzy sometimes." Lindsey nodded and left. I laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling until my phone buzzed.

Barakitty:
Hey girlll, wanna get together soon? I'm gonna be in town next week

I picked up my phone and smiled.

Me:
Yesss! Finally, someone to hang out with that isn't family!

I set my phone down and heard Gerard calling for me. I went downstairs and saw Bandit in stuff to play outside.
        "Would you mind playing with Bandit outside for awhile while I get some work done?" I nodded and went upstairs to put on my coat and boots again.

        After putting them on and tying my hair up in a ponytail, Bandit and I went to the backyard. I started forming snowballs when I was hit in the back by one. I looked up to see Lindsey hiding one behind her back.
         "Oh you're so gonna get it!" I started throwing snowballs at her and we broke into a snowball fight. Bandit squealed and hid behind Lindsey.
        "Traitor!" She grinned and I fake pouted as I threw one at Lindsey.

        But it didn't hit Lindsey because she stepped out of the way. Instead, it hit Gerard right in the face.
        "Oh, my god! I'm so sorry!" He slowly wiped the snow off of his face and looked at me.
        "You're gonna pay for that." He picked up some snow and started forming a ball and threw it at me. Cookie ran out and followed Gerard. I shrieked and ran behind the tree in the backyard. They all bombarded me with snowballs until I felt one handed to me. I pretended to cry and Gerard went into father mode quickly. I used this chance and threw the snowball at him.

        Lindsey and Bandit started laughing really hard with me.
        "Okay, truce!" Gerard said through his laughing. We all wiped the snow off of us and headed inside.
        "Why did you come outside?" I asked Gerard as I took my coat out.
        "I was gonna say that Mikey needed a babysitter for Rowan so I was gonna tell you he's dropping her off in about an hour from now." He looked at the clock as he told me.

        "Awesome. I love her so much!" Gerard nodded and I headed upstairs. I was working on homework when Gerard called for me. I walked downstairs and saw Kristin and Mikey.
        "Rowan!" I squealed and saw her in her carrier.
        "Alright, we'll be back around eleven to get her." Kristin told me and I nodded.
        "Have fun!" Mikey gave me a quick hug before they left. I took Rowan up to my room and held her in my lap as I finished my homework. She started squealing and laughing so I took a picture of her and posted it.

        I set my phone down and brought her downstairs to find her something to eat.
        "I made pasta if you want some." I gave Lindsey a thumbs up and found a bag that had Rowan's name on it.
        "Aha, here we go!" I grabbed some food for her and fed her before getting some food for myself.
