Tony, Steve, and Clint were in the other room interrogating the girl Spider-Man found in the compound. Peter insisted on assisting with the interrogation, but Tony knew that the kid would end up on accidentally saying something he'd later regret and eff up the whole thing. Sure, there were a few hurt feelings, but sadly, Peter could see where his mentor was coming from. When Peter and Tony had met up with the other two Avengers that were in the lab, the poor kid was flooded with a tsunami of apologies. Parker couldn't help but to forgive them, Clint and Steve were just looking out for him, Clint's a dad and Steve... well Steve's Steve, what else could be said?
So, now Peter was stuck sitting outside the door to the room that the adults were in, tapping his toes impatiently and talking to Karen occasionally.
About twenty minutes later Peter found himself being struck in the back of the head by an opening door, "Ow..." he groaned as he rubbed the sore spot.
"Oh, sorry Pete, I swear I didn't mean to do that," Tony laughed tiredly. "Let me just say, that girl is a pain in the ass... don't repeat that!"
"Tell me about it!" Parker jumped up off of the ground. "She was treating me like I was 12!"
"Peter," Stark sighed and shut his eyes. "Even I can admit that you act like you're twelve."
Spider-Man slumped against the wall to pout, "I thought you were on my side Mr. Stark."
Iron Man laughed and slumped against the wall next to the kid. He began to relieve himself from some stress by rubbing his face. "I think if I were in that room any longer, I'd scream. Steve and Clint had to send me out of the room."
"Y'know Mr. Stark," Peter smiled up at Tony. "I could go in there for you."
Tony laughed, "You wanna try with her kid? Yeah good luck with that, if I, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, couldn't deal with a teenage girl, I'm afraid to say, that you're out of luck."
"C'mon! Please!" The kid moved to be face to face with his mentor. "I've been sitting out here for forever! I need to do something!"
"Alright, alright," Stark sighed. "You can help for a bit. But if either Cap or Clint tell you to leave, you leave. Got it?"
"Yes! I mean- sure thing Mr. Stark!" Peter bounced up and down on the extra energy he had stored.
The kid calmed down and proceeded to enter the room. He closed the door behind himself as he greeted everyone, "Hey Captain, Hawkeye, mean lady, Mr. Stark said I could come in and help out for him."
Peter welcomed himself to a seat as Clint sighed, mumbling a number of curses under his breath, "Okay... then I guess we need to fill you in on what we know..." Barton kicked his feet up on the table in front of him. He, Steve, and Spider-Man sat across from the girl in the surprisingly brightly lit room, with only a table separating them.
"Her name's Alicia Vanatta," Steve look over to Peter with a serious look on his face. The thought that the person in front of him was just a teenager kept slipping into his mind, which started to unsettle the super soldier.
Peter waited for Captain America to continue, but he never did, "Wait, that's all you guys have found out?"
"And it's all you're going to find out," The girl, whom Parker now knew to be Alicia, growled, causing the kid to jump a bit. "Ha, the kid's scared."
This went on for another hour, learning absolutely nothing. The three would take turns exiting the room to take a break. Occasionally Tony would step in, but he had other things he needed to to and let the others take care of this.
Steve, Peter, and Clint were suddenly cut off from their pointless argument by a sudden banging on the door, "Underoos, Underoos, you need to get out here now."
Parker sighed as he came up from his seat, "Aw, we're gonna miss you Spider-Boy!" Alicia taunted as he left to room.
"What is it Mr. Stark? Do you need me to save the world or something, because I can do that if you need me to!" Peter pulled off his mask to be face to face with Tony.
"What-? No! No no no no. Pete-Peter, it's about your aunt! We need to get to the hospital now!" Stark put his hands on the kid's shoulders. "She's awake kid! I just got a phone call, they said she's been asking for you."
Peter's eyes widened to the size of saucers, "Oh my god! M-Mr. Stark we need to go, we need to go right now!" The kid grinned as he rushed out of the lab and to the garage. The billionaire jogging behind him, smiling.
