I woke up to see that Two-bit was not even beside me.

I figured he was probably in the bathroom getting changed, but he wasn't.

I began to worry where he was, so I decided to make myself breakfast.

I looked at the stove, and then I remembered I can't cook.

I would burn the house up, and then they would both kill me.

I turned around and decided to go to the Dingo and get some brunch.

What stopped me was a small drawer with many envelopes on top of it.

They all came from a different address, some were the electric company, some were water bills etc.

I looked down the hallways into Mrs. Mathews room, but I could hear her lightly snoring letting me know she was asleep.

I quietly took one of the envelopes to see it read that she owed $10.

Wow! $10! What do they think we are Socs? We don't have that kind of money.

I then looked at the other envelopes, and they all had the same amount.

All of the payments together was $60.
I looked at it very confused.

How could this be happening? Mrs. Mathews then came in the kitchen.

She said, "Good Morning, Shaylin, did you sleep good?"

Stuffing one of the envelopes behind my back, I said to her, "Yeah, I did. By any chance do you know where I can find Two-bit?"

She smiled and said, "He's probably at the Curtis house by now."

I gave her a fake smile back and said, "Thank you, I should be back soon."

She nodded her head and said while I was walking out the door, "Bye."

I was in too much of a rush, so I simply just ran with the one bill over to the Curtis house where he might be.

Everyone was there since it was a weekend day.

They were in the kitchen eating breakfast well everyone except Dally.

I walked in to see them eating eggs, toast, grits, bacon, and even bagels.

I then called to him, "Two-bit."

They all stopped talking and laughing at whatever it was and looked at me.

He rose up from his chair, and he could tell I was upset.

He asked, "Morning, Shay."

I then grabbed his arm and pulled him outside, so the gang wouldn't hear us.

He then asked after I shut the door, "Hey, what's going on? What's wrong?"

I then pulled the bill out of my pocket and said, "Two-bit, there's a whole stack of these at your moms house."

He then turned a little pale when seeing them and said, "You found out."

I then asked a little shock, "So, you knew, and you didn't tell me?"

He then said, "No, well yes I mean I knew, but I only found out last night.

Mom said we might lose the house because she can't pay for all of these.

She only has one day job, but she said she might be having to do the night shifts."

I said, "Well, I live there to, so maybe I can help pay for some of these."

He shook his head while smiling, "See, it's just like you to want to help, but I can't ask you to do that for us."

I then smiled back and said, "You didn't ask, I volunteered."

He shook his head smiling, and looked away as I tried to change his mind.

"I'll get a job, I'll work extra shifts so I can help. Two-bit, I want to help."

He then looked back at me and said, "It's not your problem, Shay."

I then got a little more upset and dragged him back in the house and in the kitchen.

I said out loud, "Soda, Steve, do you have any job openings at the DX?"

Steve spoke up, "Well, we're always looking for people to help."

I said, "Great, I'll start Monday."

Two-bit then shook his head and said, "You can't do this for me."

I then looked at him and said, "I'm repaying you."

He asked, "For what?"

I answered, "Being there for me when I needed you to be."

He then said giving up, "Alright, fine. You can work at the DX, but you two better watch her."

Soda said, "We will, Two, don't worry."

I then asked, "Okay, what's to eat because I am starving!"

That's when the whole gang started laughing even Two-bit.
