"Please Cat! You know I wouldn't be pushing this unless I sincerely believed she was ready!" I informed Cat on something that she probably already knew but nonetheless decided against it.

I've known Cat for my entire life almost and I know that she means well most of the time. That she's just doing what she can but this isn't that time. Cat has a choice here but she's just refusing to see it through. She's only being stubborn in the moment and I'd be lying completely if I said my blood wasn't boiling to the max right now.

"That may be you Kara, but your decisions are altered because you've become friends with her or whatever you guys are." Cat immediately realized what she said as she shut her eyes in means to overlook her words. "The bottom line is Lena is not ready for this sort of initiation and that's final Kara." This time Cats words were blunt and final. There was no second guessing her decision on this and any other time I probably would have let it go with that.

With the tone Cat used it'd take pure bravery to still argue with her. Something I gained from out of no where it seems. "No Cat, it's not final!" I nearly barked out at her as my hand flung down onto Cats desk with a force I didn't even know I used until the loud "smack!" sound was heard from it. This truly caught Cats attention as well as mine. "From the first day in June when Lena walked in here she's proven to half the people in this camp that she is not only worthy of going on this trip but that she is trying. Which is more than I could say for half of the arrogant, lazy camp counselors we actually have!" The words came out before I even knew it but I didn't care. Every single word I said was true and I don't regret any of them.

Cat held a expression hard glare that made it very difficult for me to decipher what she was thinking but it wasn't normal that I could. There was probably only a 50/50 chance that I could ever tell what she was thinking, and only about 10% of those times were I ever right. "You're a smart girl Kara. Passionate about what you believe in. Your even head strong and a lot of people like that Kara. Good graces, I like that, but riddle me this." Cat began as she made her way out from behind her desk and over to stand in front of me. Being sure that she was not going to be heard clearly.

"Lena came here as a CIT. That's been her role this entire summer, not that she fulfilled it sufficiently but that's what she is to this camp. Now there are plenty of other CITs who would kill to go on this trip with you guys. Theoretically speaking how would it look if I let her come on the trip but not them?" She proposed the question in a matter that simply did not ask for a response more or less a moment of silence that eventually grew too long until it was too awkward to respond at all. As if.

I scoffed at the maneuver she attempted to use before I rolled my eyes in annoyance. I understand Lena isn't Cats favorite camper but she's letting that dislike for the Luthor overrule her good judgement, and I just can't have that. "None of them meet the age requirements to be a Camp Counselor, but Lena does." I stated while adding some strong emphasis on the last part. Cat has to realize this.

Given my quick argument Cat chuckled in her defense as she walked away and towards the window of her little office that she hardly even uses. She crossed her arms as she stared out at who I assumed was Lena. Before I walked in here, unknowingly of course because if Lena saw me come in here she would've wanted to come with. Besides if I remember correctly before I came in here Lena was playing some games with the campers.

After a moment of silence I decided to walk over towards Cat and see for my self whether or not she was really looking at Lena or not. I peeked through the window only to see Lena running around in a circle while Savannah, a 8 year old from my friend Jennifer's Cabin, chased her in the same circular rotation. Of course Lena ran slower than she usually does when she's running with me in order to give some advantage to Savannah. Instinctively the sight caused a light, almost feather like smile to appear on my face as I warmed up to the sight. Lena's gigantic, playful, pure happy smile made my heart sink in the most comfortable way possible.
