PART TWO

I had went down to the creek on a Saturday afternoon. It had been just two weeks when Wolfgang and I admitted that we both liked each other, a lot...two weeks and I couldn't keep him off of my mind.

I approached the creek to see Darren, Ben and Wolfgang gathered by that machine. They had been working on it for quite some time. They had a plan to fly to space and meet aliens and I believed in them. They all had their minds set to it.

When I approached them, they all had this look of concentration on their faces, and I felt lousy for maybe interrupting their 'work'

But when Wolfgang saw me, I watched his eyes widen with this bright gleam in them. My heart sank a little bit.

"Hey, Erin."

Snickers and 'oohs' were made by Ben and Darren, and I quickly shot them a glare.

"Will you two be quiet?" Wolfgang sneered.

I had noticed that Wolfgang's glasses were off, and his eyes were even more beautiful up close. He jammed his fist in his pockets and turned back to face me,

"So, how's the spaceship going?" I asked him, but before he could answer, Darren quickly interrupted,

"We're missing a part." Darren said, blankly.

"Yeah, and the machine won't work without it." Ben said, twisting his mouth.

My eyebrows furrowed, and I looked back at Wolfgang, who had a saddening look to his crystal eyes. I rubbed his shoulder,

"Well, can't you guys just get the part?"

"I'm afraid, it's not that easy. You see, we're missing a motor, like a transmission, something that will make this thing go!" He said, biting his bottom lip in frustration.

I blinked quickly, "Just go to an Auto part shop, I'm sure they have a lot of motors there!"

"Yeah, but they cost money, and who's gonna sale it to a bunch of little kids?" Darren was right. I looked at the ground sadly, hearing the sound of footsteps rustle on the dirt. I looked up to see Darren and Ben starting out of the creek,

"Where are you guys going?"

"To get a snack!" Ben said, then walking out of creek along with Darren. I rolled my eyes, sighing.

I turned my attention back to  Wolfgang. He was staring down, and he looked sadder than ever. More sad than he had been when those boys were picking on him. It dawned on me that maybe Wolfgang had never felt this way, like he had failed or something. He sat down in a nearby chair, a pout on his lips and a sorrow to his eyes. I stepped behind him, holding my hands on his shoulders,

"It'll be alright. Don't stress it, Wolfgang." He didn't say anything, he only kept his eyes on the ground. I began worried, swallowing hard and stroking his golden hair,

"My ambitions are crushed." He said sourly. I shook my head slowly,

"Don't say that." I told him. I hated when he talked like that. He was amazing, and nothing less than that.

"It's true. We'll never go to space. So, we can just forget it."

"Stop talking like that!" I snapped, then crossing my arms, staring down at him. He got up hurriedly, running his fingers through his hair. I could tell he was stressed and upset with himself, but I never stopped believing in him.

"Erin, without that part, it won't work, okay? We'll never see the galaxy and meet the extraterrestrial...I'm a failure."

I neared close to him, standing under his nose,

"Don't say that, Wolfgang. You're not a failure. I believe in you guys, I always have and I always will. You'll make it to space, trust me."

He sighed, breathing in heavily. He bit down on his bottom lip, glancing up at me.

"...Thanks. But where will we get the part? I just don't know what we're gonna do. To think that I had it all figured out." He breathed in, staring down again. I inched closer to him,

"God. What are we gonna do-"

I stood on my tiptoes, kissing his soft, puckered lips. My heart sank deeper into my body, and a blush touched my cheeks. When, we parted front each other, I stared up at him. His face was burning. That was the first time we had kissed. Sure, I had kissed his cheek and held his hand, but I never kissed him like that, until now. A smile slowly crept on his lips,

"Why did you do that?" He asked, slowly.

I shrugged, "You needed it."

"Okay, guys, we got gummy bears and chocolate bars!" We both turned around at the same time, to see Ben and Darren standing there with an arm full of candy. They backed away slowly once they seen how close Wolfgang and I had gotten.

"Come on, Darren. They're having a moment." Ben said, clutching Darren's wrist and starting out of the creek. Wolfgang and I shared a laugh. It brought a smile to my face, seeing him light up like that.

"I love you so much. Honest, I don't know what I'd do without you." Wolfgang said.

"Awe, I love you more, Wolfgang."

I really hope you liked this, I worked really, really hard on it. Sorry, it took too long to write, even though it's trash.
