For wondergirl_12

Her eyes, her smile, her lips...everything about her was perfect. Her personality had drawn him in and River was attached. She was unlike anyone else who had stepped into his life, and he loved that.

He wished he could tell her these things, that she was so beautiful and charming. He had wanted a relationship deeper than what they had. He just couldn't lift himself up to say it, he could only dream.

Her name was Amyia, and she was everything he could dream of. At least in River's eyes. If she didn't see the beauty in her deep, chocolate eyes, he did. He noticed every beautiful detail within her.

They had been best friends since forever. They could tell each other everything. Their friendship was gold and everlasting. They had talked so deeply to each other, so deep that River fell in love with Amyia. He had caught himself falling for her, and he couldn't help it.

Did she notice that look in his eyes when he looked at her?

Did she notice that big cheesy smile on his face when he gazed at her?

River hoped so.

It was a warm night. The two sat close to each other under the old oak tree. The stars weren't out this night, just the shine from the moonlight.

The two had gone through a series of conversations that night, talking about anything and everything that came to mind. Throughout the night, River couldn't help but to drift away from her smooth voice and lose himself in her brown eyes. His eyes were wide and his darkened eyebrows rose slightly, he hadn't realized it.

Amyia noticed it though, she had also realized that River seemed different that night. He kept gazing at her. It was different coming from him. She had stopped talking to look at him closely,

"River?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing.

River snapped out of his blank thoughts, rubbing his temple with his thumb,

"Yeah?"

"You alright? Why are you staring at me like that?"

River shook his head, taking his eyes off of her and then gazing at the ground. He couldn't tell her. He couldn't tell her that he liked her more than friend. He just couldn't. River wasn't ready for the hurt. He glanced back up at her, River hadn't noticed before, but the way her brown skin glowed under the moonlight was so smooth and beautiful. Just like her.

"River?" She asked once again but in a more serious tone. He looked at her quickly,

"Are you okay? You're kind of buggin' tonight." She said slowly.

"Psh! I'm not buggin', I'm just..." He stopped himself. He wanted to say something that would confess his admiration for her, but he was scared, afraid of rejection.

"You're just what?" She asked him, trying to find her way through his greenish blue eyes. River shook his head, his eyes burning into the ground.

"You know you can talk to me about anything. Don't be afraid." River's eyes widened, it was like she had broke into his thoughts. It startled him but calmed him at the same time.

If it was true, if he really could talk to her about anything then she wouldn't blame him for telling her. This had bugged River truly, he knew he had to get it off his chest, but he was scared to. How would she take it? He was worried that she'd 'friendzone' him. He'd come out and tell her how he really feels and she'd reject his feelings, leaving him heart broken. Was he ready for that? No. He wasn't. He thought about it long enough and came to the conclusion that he'd never look at her the same way again.

Suddenly River couldn't take it,

"I like you." His soft voice whispered to the air. Amyia seemed slightly confused,

"Well duh, we're friends-"

"No, I like you...as in more than a friend." He said slowly. River had pictured it more aggressive in his head, like how it is in movies. It seemed to play out slow. Maybe this was just the start.

It was silent. The talk of the wind was the only sound present. River realized that he shouldn't had said anything. His face blushed a reddish pink and his eyebrows furrowed. He got up quickly wishing he could take it all back,

"Just forget it. I didn't say anything." He said dryly. Amyia stood up quick, facing the blonde haired boy. Her face swelled with a hotness, her brown cheeks smoothing into a deep crimson.

"Wait, why are you leaving?"

"I shouldn't have said anything." He said quietly. Amyia shook her head,

"It's actually funny you say that, because...I like you also, Rio." She said suddenly. River looked up slowly, his warm colored eyes turning icy. All this time he had doubted himself, when deep down inside she had loved him too.

"Really? You're not just saying that, are you?" Amyia shook her head, a small smile building upon her lips.

"I like you in that way. I just wanted you to say something first." She giggled softly. He loved her laughed, he blushed.

"So...what do we do?" River asked. Were they supposed to be together now?

"What do you wanna do, Rio?" There was no doubt in mind what River had wanted,

"I wanna be with you." He said, running his fingers through his hair. The silence was there again, but River didn't mind. The two seemed to move closer, and River couldn't take his eyes off of her lips. They leaned into each other, before they knew it, their lips were touching. They had kissed that night under the moon.
