Warning: intentional rape

Neon lights flashed and music filled the air as sweaty body's danced in the night time.

The people were free and careless as their body's moved to the rhythm.

(Y/n) sat on a couch and watched the people. She could smell weed coming from one of the back rooms, she could see the energy and lust coming from two people as they made out against the wall.

It wasn't somewhere she thought she'd be this late at night. It hadn't been a place she wanted to go to. She had been dragged there by her friend, who was currently 'getting it on' with her ex boyfriend.

So, (Y/n) sat alone on a couch. Her mood clearly smeared on her face, which had been regret and irritation. She could see the freedom and happiness through the people, which made her feel even more lonely.

Her hand held up her cheek as she just watched. Suddenly she could feel the weight of the couch, shift. She could feel an empty presence next to her, but for some reason, she didn't want to see the person next to her.

"Hey baby,"

The voice in her ear was raspy and slurred. She could hear the drunkenness in his voice. Her lips stayed closed together, as sweat drenched her scalp.

The boy sitting next to her made her nervous, his presence made her heart thump. (Y/n) knew how people could get when their drunken minds decided for them. The feeling and the thought didn't make her feel too hot.

It didn't take long until he had his hand under her shirt. (Y/n), freighted and disgusted, quickly slapped him and she tried pushing him off of her, gripping his wrist tightly.

"C'mon, don't be like that!"

"Get off of me!"

"C'mon baby!"

That look in that guy's eyes was terrifying. It was strong and glistening, and her heart began to thump even more.

It seemed that no one at that party could see an innocent girl getting taken advantage of by a careless man, whose only intention was to fuck. No one could see it. The weed smoke, the heavy vodka, the heavy energy that filled the room, maybe it had all gotten to their minds.

His grip loosened, and at that (Y/n) wiggled out of his grasp, quickly getting up to the door. His hands grabbed at her, but caught nothing but air.

She made it outside, a sweaty and panting mess. She swallowed, catching her breath.

"You alright?"

She looked up at the dark sky at first, looking around quickly. Her eyes fell on a boy. His hair was golden, and he had a cigarette in his lips. He slid his fingers on the cigarette, taking a heavy drag and then releasing light smoke into the midnight air.

His dark eyebrows raised, as he said again, "Are you okay?"

She nodded, straightening up and swallowing hard. His dark eyes could look into her eyes, and tell that something wasn't right, but it was up to her to tell him if she wanted to, and it wasn't something that he felt comfortable assuming. He held his cigarette at his side, gazing at the stars in the sky,

"Alright. It's just that you came out here like, I dunno, Michael Myers was chasing you." He said lightly, taking another long drag on his cigarette.

(Y/n) wanted to laugh, but couldn't utter out a thing. She was stressed, and traumatized. All she could think about was that guy's eyes staring into her with a terrifying gleam in them. It had scared her something awful. A stranger probably wouldn't understand that.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." She lied, still gasping air.

He turned around again, furrowing his brows,

"Hey, deep breaths in...deep breaths out." He said slowly, as she breathed in and out.

She finally got a hold of herself, closing her eyes tightly, trying to wash out the harsh memory that drunken fool had burnt in her mind,

"I'm okay." She said, but only lied.

Suddenly, thick, cold, and heavy tears seeped from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. She shook as the tears had gotten the best of her. She kicked herself for crying like that in front of a stranger. Little did she know, the stranger didn't mind.

He dug his heel into the cigarette until it was crushed and ashed. He walked over to her, his arms opened wide,

"Can I hug you?" (Y/n) tried to respond through tears, but instead nodded.

"Yeah? Okay." He took her in his arms, swaying slowly so he could soothe the crying girl.

(Y/n) pulled away, wiping her eyes and cheeks that were drenched with the wetness from her tears. She stopped rubbing her eyes, until she couldn't see thick blurry blobs anymore. He smiled effortlessly,

"I'm River." She nodded slowly,

"(Y/n)."

"Now, do you wanna tell me what happened? I'm here to help, not judge." He assured her. (Y/n) ran her fingers in her hair,

"Yeah, alright." She agreed to tell him what had got her gasping for air and stressed. She walked over to sit in a chair, where he soon followed and sat right beside her. It was then, when she realized his eyes were light and blue.

"...And yeah." She ended, after telling him everything that had went down, even the mention of her friend basically abandoning her. River sat up,

"I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry. You know, some guys are like that. They're selfish and foolish, and their drunken minds take over them. But, hey," He laid his hand on her shoulder and looked at her carefully,

"don't let it ruin you." He said slowly.

River at the end of the night, seemed like a genuine soul. He was very wise and careful, and it wasn't long when he felt himself falling for the girl.

"I can make it up to you. You're way too beautiful to be hurt like that." He said getting up slowly,

"No, River, it's really fine. I'm okay." She said shaking her head at River's caring ways. He laid his hand out,

"No, come on, you and me. We'll dance."

"But, I don't wanna go back in there," She pleaded softly,

"We don't have to go in there, we can stay right here. Come on, get up." (Y/n) gave in, grabbing river's hand.

The music was so loud that you could hear it outside, so it was perfect, they had something to dance to. He held his hands on her waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. A redness filled her cheeks, and she laughed, a smile that spread from ear to ear on her face,

"This is crazy," She said, but loving the idea.

"Yeah, well anything for you, my love." He said in a mockery tone. She giggled at the words, 'my love'

At the end of the night, a smile so wide sat on her lips, and she couldn't thank River enough. He made her night. Right, when she thought she was gonna cry and stress the whole party, River changed that. She liked him for that.
