I was driving in a city near where I live and passed the downtown area. It occurred to me that I've never been there before. I don't know the people there, the places, the shops, the possible houses, possible apartments, the streets, the traditions, the coffee shop that everybody goes to, the coffee shop nobody goes to but always has people there. The entire town is a mystery to me. The town is nothing a place beside the highway to me.
It makes me wonder how many places I know or I say that I know that I really don't. How many towns I've seen but never been to. How many towns I've seen but never experienced.
I wonder how many towns are nothing but a shell of what you see from the signs that glow to the highway.
