Chapter 001
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝Eugene's eyes slowly drifted open, revealing the rich, deep blue of a lapis lazuli ceiling tapestry, its intricate patterns shimmering in the soft light.
Above him, a grand chandelier hung like a crown, casting a gentle, warm glow across the opulent room, every crystal reflecting flecks of gold and silver.
For a fleeting moment, his gaze was blank, his mind adrift in silence—until an intense wave of sorrow broke through.
Tears welled up, unstoppable, spilling down his cheeks in a relentless, quiet cascade.
He felt incredibly suffocated by the sudden realization.
He had returned to the past, reborn as the second young master of the Shradinza Household.
The familiar loneliness of this place pressed heavily on him, a reminder of the isolation he once endured.
Returning here meant facing the shadows of his former mistakes—a chance to mend what was broken, but at the cost of reliving the pain he had tried to leave behind.
He was so tired.
When he thought he could finally rest, he unconsciously came back at the beginning. Now he finally realizes the feeling of betrayal, and it's terrible. But he had no right to complain because that was also what he did to his younger brother.
Maybe the atonement he did on earth is not enough.
If so―how many lifetimes are needed for him to be accepted by the heavens? How many cycles should be done, so he could finally sleep forever?
He wanted to know. He was so scared because he was alone.
He sacrifices everything while living on earth. Eugene himself finally realized that he was bound to suffer and never find salvation.
The darkness that was pulling him is too strong, but he can't just end his life simply, because, without heaven's permission, he wasn't allowed to stop breathing.
That alone is an eternal burden to him.
He wanted to know―why was that fate so cruel to him?
But there's no answer; after all, he didn't deserve reclamation.
Death.
It would be better if he could experience it.
Sighing, Eugene climbs down from the bed.
The familiar floor, inlaid with an elegant medallion of sodalite and lapis lazuli marble, stirred a lingering sadness within him.
Its intricate patterns, once a symbol of grandeur, now evoked a quiet ache—a sense of longing for something lost and the weight of memories he couldn't escape.
Everything in the room was a serene blend of white and blue, an oasis of calm in a turbulent world. This room had been his sanctuary, his one true refuge. In his final moments here, it was the only place that had ever made him feel truly secure, cradling him in a quiet, unwavering comfort that he had found nowhere else.
But this is also the room that witnesses his obscure death.
It was really painful, being stabbed by a sword.
Standing in front of the mirror, he gasps when he finds himself in the body of the ten years old him. He couldn't believe it because around this time. He hasn't done anything serious yet, just cursing his little brother and pulling a prank.
