Chapter Three: Messy Beginnings

"HEY! NEWBIES!"

A spiky salmon-haired boy rushed over to the two of them. He threw himself into a stool beside Camel and spun until he came to a stop. A blonde girl with jangling keys ran over to him (there are 2 versions of every celestial key in this fanfic), a look of concern on her face.

"Excuse my boyfriend - he's just... excited to see new people," She explained. She tugged on his arm. "Come on, Natsu, let's leave them alone."

Camel shook her head. "No, it's okay." She cracked a smile. "That's just how Kit acts. Excited but extremely anxious."

Kit nodded and finished her drink. "I'm Kit, this is Camel, and we're travelers. We were searching for a guild to settle down in before taking jobs and resuming our exploration."

Camel laughed. "No, you're Dumbass."

"Clusterfuck."

"Cocky."

"Bastard."

The blonde chuckled nervously. "I'm Lucy. Are... are you two always like this?"

Camel shrugged. "Usually."

Mira came back with the paints and brands for Camel and Kit.

"What color?" She asked.

"Misty blue, kind of what you would expect stardust to be, but like... faded and not bright, but- OW!" Kit's rant was cut short by Camel ramming her elbow into her chest.

"She rants a lot," Camel said.

Mira giggled. "Well, there's only one color that comes close to that," she said, pulling out a dusty purple-blue color.

"Cool," Kit said. She pulled aside her shirt collar and let Mira stamp her collar bone.

"Kinky!"

"Camel, shut up!"

Camel got a gold-scarlet mark on her cheek.

"Guess it's 'cause you're such a cheeky little shit," Kit mumbled.

"What'd you say to me, scamp?!" Camel growled.

"Well, you are!" Kit yelled back.

"At least I can keep my smartass-ery to myse chatter in the room started to die down as people noticed the two fighting.

"That's it!" Kit jumped at Camel, and soon they were knocking things over, wrecking the entire place.
