You made new friends.

I made new friends.

You got closer to Yugeom from our class.

I got closer to Soomi from another class.

English class made me want to cry.

You talked to the teacher more than me.

You talked to everyone more than me.

When they teased me, you pretended you didn't hear.

I sat silently and willed myself not to cry.

Until they hit me.

My nose was bleeding and I was trying to get to the bathroom but I bumped into you.

You just stared for a minute before bringing me to the cafeteria. 

It was empty but you got me tissues then waited outside the bathroom.

You took me to our year head's classroom.

You waited outside.

We were both late to history.

I said it was my fault they hit me.

You told me not to make excuses for them.

You said sorry for not defending me.

For ignoring me.

For not texting me.

For not talking to me.

I smiled and told you it was okay.

It wasn't.

I told you I was okay.

I wasn't.

I had been practically dying without you.

But you'd never know.
