Ruki's P.O.V
I stood inside the plant gallery of the Kiseki no Hoshi Greenhouse in amazement. It had been so beautiful and unique, along with a warm feeling to it. It was strange, we were about two weeks away from Christmas and here I am feeling warm inside a garden.
"Ruki-san" I looked next to me to see Lucy with a small map of the greenhouse. She looked away from it and looked at me. "Are you okay?" I arched a brow.
"Yeah....why are you asking me that?"
"Your face is heating up." She was about to touch my cheek when I grabbed her hand and began to pull her. "Ruki-san"
"If we continue to go straight then we will reach the tropical exhibit."
"But we didn't finish looking at the plant gallery. "
"I don't think we will find a plant we want here."
"Well, I don't think we will find a plant here in the tropical exhibit either."
"Fine, then in the 'New Lifestyle With Plants' exhibit we will continue our search." Once we reached the exhibit I let go of Lucy. We separated and walked around looking for a new plant. As I stated at the well I felt a small tug on my sleeve. I looked in the area to see a little boy with short ruffled black hair, large green eyes, and a blue hoodie with its hood the color of pink. Along with black pants. I arched a brow. "What is it?"
"Mr, what happens to a plant after it is born?"
"Didn't your parents teach you not to talk to strangers?" He nodded.
"Yes but you are not a stranger if you know who I am. I am Yazumi and you are?" This kid, should I tell him? If I were to then would I be telling him that every stranger he meets is a person who will befriend him?
"Ruki-san!"
"Yazumi!" We looked in the direction of the voices to see Lucy and a guy who looked exactly like the boy who I had been speaking to, but taller, running toward us. Lucy stopped in front of me to catch her breath before she spoke.
"I found....the perfect....flower." She said happily.
"Really?" She nodded.
"Yeah, come on-"
"Lucy?" We looked at the owner of the voice to see that it had been the boy's father or brother, or something like that.
"Nobu" Her happy expression changed. Her eyes were full of sadness while her smile was gone. If anything it looked like a frown.
"Where have you been? You haven't come back to the club in nearly a month." He must have been talking about the gardening club she had been in.
"Oh...I have been...busy." Her voice had sounded shakey. As if she had been about to cry. I heard her heart began to beat rapidly.
"I see, you know Rin seems to miss you." Rin? Who was he and why did her discussing things about him hurt her so much?
"Oh...really?" She looked up and gave the man who I assumed had the name Nobu a smile. "Tell him that......I hat-.....that I hope he has a nice life." She turned around and held my sleeve in her thumb and index finger as she stared ahead. Her bangs covered her eyes but I knew that she had already started to tear up. "Can we go?" Her voice, the way she was now. I felt like I had no choice.
I looked at the boy and sighed. I guess O was turning sort of...soft. "Ruki" I grabbed Lucy's hand and pulled her out to the rose garden since I knew that since it had been cold outside, no one would be here. As soon as we reached the garden Lucy's tears started to slide down her face and yet she kept her same empty composure.
"Lucy"
"No matter how many times I try to forget him, something of him always appears."
"Rin?" She nodded. I somehow couldn't help but feel bad for her but for some reason, I felt something else, envy. Envy that a man had her. A man who did nothing but hurt her.
