(Lucien's Point Of View)
"You had no right to put Emmett on the spot like that!" I barked angrily pacing after the High Councillor, how dare this bitter old man walk away from the Lord himself.

"You don't have that privilege anymore! That boy is off limits to you! Lux is your new betrothed and when you are married to her your love for this simple boy will die, literally." He stared me up and down in mute disgust before storming his fat little legs towards the Council Chambers.

I could see the pure exhaustion in his eyes after he carried out the ritual and how strong the underlying dark magic was even thinking about it made my burns throb painfully. What added to it is Vincent's brother the former High Councillor turned up, His reputation was being Emmett's longest running relationship and I could already pinpoint his intentions to win Emmett over again, I mean he had the looks and the charm but he had what I lacked most..a backbone.

(Emmett's Point Of View)
"But for now, just rest up and get your strength back" Cassiel smiled softly and I suddenly remember how I melted at even the smallest twitch of his lips but it really didn't compare to when I first met him, now it was a brief spark of excitement before it was gone again.

"Fine, Just don't try anything" I warned cautiously laying my gloves onto the sidetable hoping to god that they didn't burn Vincent's expensive looking blankets.

"I won't, but you won't either. You burnt out all your excess dark magic so it might be a little easier to control, but I still recommend wearing them when touching people or things. A blanket should be fine though" He shrugged shifting up onto his feet and headed for the door "call me if you need anything" He gave a tiny wave before quietly clicking the door shut behind him.

"Emmie, Hey. How are you feeling?" I sat up at the sound of that voice, the voice of a wolf in sheeps clothing.

"Turn around and leave. Before, I make a kebab out of backstabber" I snapped reaching for the small ring dagger I kept in my boot for good measure.

"Please let me explain" She pleaded stepping closer towards the bed, I hooked the ring of the dagger with my thumb and swiftly slipped it out of my boot and brought it up to her throat.

"Leave me alone, or so help me I will disembowl you then you wont be any use to Lucien" I growled taking the blade away from her throat and pressed the tip of the blade into her stomach.

"Please, I didn't mean for this to happen" She snivelled pleadingly wrapping her hands around my wrist.
"You did too. Don't lie" I trapped her hands between mine and twisted them behind her back, jerking them upward until I heard a pained squeak.

"Emmett!" I heard Cassiel bark my name before I was yanked off of Lux and restrained by his obnoxiously strong arms firmly trapping my substantially smaller body against his broad chest.

"Lux, I need you to go home. I'll make sure he doesn't harm you" Cassiel muttered reassuringly to Lux who was now hyperventilating to the point that she would probably pass out before she ran off down the stairs. "That was very unbecoming of you Emmett" He scolded picking me up over his shoulder and tossed me onto the bed.

"She broke in and I was only giving her payback" I snapped throwing the dagger onto the nightstand and reached for my jacket.

"Where do you think you're going?" He scowled moving to block the doorway.

"Home, to my house before I get arrested and thrown in jail" I spat yanking on my gloves and slipping the dagger back into it's rightful spot.

"You're weak and you need rest" He squared his shoulders to try and frighten me with his giraffe like height.
