Taehyung took a deep breath through his nose, inhaling the fresh, crisp air he hadn't felt in his lungs for at least 3 weeks.

He exhaled loudly as the wind blew through the dark curls of his hair, relaxing him as it went.

His pack had been cooped up in thier underground safe house for the last few weeks.

Taehyung's father, the Alpha and leader of the pack, had heard rumour of hunter sightings not far from the borders of our territory, and the place where Werewolf kind is safe from hunters such as them.

He had decided that it was best wait and hide till the heat died down. Lowering the risk of the hunters finding thier home.

Taehyung personally though they should stand up and fight, but all have heard how well-trained the hunters are and the weapons they bare. Along with the consequences that come when wolves fail to beat them.

Certain death if you don't go in prepared.

So Taehyung put aside his personal opinions. To him, it isn't worth risking the rest of the pack due to his personal beliefs.

Later that day, after finally receiving permission from his father to go alone, he decided to scout the borders to make sure any traces of the hunters were gone, and so they were.

He ran the perimeter several times and after doing a final sweep, finding no trace of hunters, he was satisfied.

Before heading back and reporting to his father, he spoted a small trail.

He had noticed it on past missions but had never thought to go down it. But today he was feeling curious, so he decided to take it, see where it lead.

It went on for about 20 minutes till the trail emerged into what looked like a clearing consisting of a small waterfall which fell to a small lake with rocks lining the banks.

'Hmm, how have I never thought to come here, its beautiful.'

He thought as he wondered closer, inspecting the place a little more.

It really was beautiful, it gave off a really relaxing aura.
He liked it, and would for sure be returning.
It would be a nice place for him to escape to when the pressures of being the lead Alphas son and up coming leader get too much.

It was getting late and the golden hour was setting in. So Taehyung started to head back.

But as he was leaving, He thought he caught a scent. It was very sweet, like strawberries and sugar with a hint of honey.

He took a second look to see that there was, in fact, no one else there.

'It must just be and old scent lingering.'

He thought and began heading back down the trail towards home.

After Jimin had arrived home from 'the falls' as he liked to call it, it was late afternoon.

He was hungry so looked through the cupboard and fridge for something editable.

He didn't have much in so decided on some instant ramen.

He was running low on supplies.

"I guess I'll be returning to the city for a supply run soon." He sighed and took a seat in the small living room and began eating his food quietly.

As he was finishing, he turned to his right to see rays of gold sunlight slipping through the small horizontal slits in the wooden blinds that cover the windows.

'Golden hour.' he thought to himself.

He got up and rinced his dishes in the sink and placed them back in cupboards in which they belong.

He then grabbed a book he'd been reading and settled back down on the couch, allowing himself to get lost in the pages and words, and tost into the world of fiction, escapeing from reality.

After a few chapters, his eyes began to get heavy. so he arranged the bookmark on the page he was on and closed the book placing it back on the shelf and headed up to bed.

He closed the curtains, changed into some pajamas and entered the bathroom.

He opened the cabinet and picked out a toothbrush and toothpaste, sparing a glance to the box that lay not far from his reach.

'Not today. Be strong today at least. '

He managed to keep his hands from reaching for the box. Dispite his wrists itching for release and my mind begging for relief.

He brushed his teeth, washed his face, and look up in the mirror, meeting his own gaze.
The empty gaze of two soulless eyes. Windows into the prison that he called his mind.

'Pathetic. My mind is a prison and I'm never going to get out.'

He exited the bathroom and slipped into bed after turning off the light.

Before flicking the switch to the bed side lamp, he glance down to his wrists and sighed.
Scars littered them both. All of which were bound to be re-opened, sometime in the near future.

'Weak'

Forcing a sadened breath through his nose, he flicked off the lamp and closed his eyes.
His mind drifting back to when he was happy, when he wasn't in this mess of a life.

He parents always said he was worth more than gold.
How wonderful it would be for him to feel worth something again.

How wonderful would it be for him...

... to feel golden again.
