After double checking all the windows, back door and all the rooms, me and Mason were seated on a couch in the living room. His arm was around my shoulder, head slightly on my head while my head was resting on the crook of his neck. My knees were bend and my arms hugging my legs. I snuggled deeper in his side and my nostrils filled with his familiar cologne. His black hoodie making me warm too. We sat there in silence, staring at the blank black TV screen for what felt like hours. I was thinking how safe I feel with Mason and how comforting his company is when he breaks the silence bringing me back to reality.

"Do you trust me?" He asked in his deep serious voice turning his head to face me. Furrowing my brows in confusion, because I have no idea why he asked that, I replied, "Why are you even asking this?"

"Just answer the freaking question!" he growled in such anger that I backed up. I was shaken up a little because of his sudden outburst. I knew he was going to confront me about whatever is happening but I didn't expect this.

"Yes, I do." I answered softly. His face softened instantly. "Am I your friend?" he asked in the same serious tone but I sensed some deep feeling in it. Like maybe hurt, I guess. I nodded unable to voice my answer as lump formed in my throat. I knew well where was this going. "Friends don't hide things from each other." he snapped. His voice was filled with so much frustration and resentment that it terrified me. But his eyes held a different story. They were filled with worry, hurt and sadness.

The look in his eyes nearly broke me. I swallowed the lump and opened my mouth to speak but Mason beat me to it. "Have I done something wrong? Don't you trust me anymore?" he asked, his voice emotionless now but those eyes still betrayed him.

"Mason, why are you even thinking all this crap? You know I trust you with my life. What are you even talking about?" I asked trying my best to act confuse and play dumb. I knew so well what he was talking about.

"Then tell me what is happening, Ash. I can seeyou struggling with your life. I know you are not able to sleep properly due tosome bad thoughts but what in hell are those bad thoughts, Ash? Why are youalways uneasy wherever we go? Why are you always looking over your shoulder? Doyou think I haven't noticed all this? Do you think I didn't notice that youhaven't genuinely smiled and laughed for so long? And you think this is crap?"he barked in such anger that even Mark Henry would want to hide under the sofa.I gulped audibly, "Mason, I.. uh..-" but once again he beat me to it. "Firstyour cranky moods all these months. Those bags under your eyes. You decreasinggrades and now your house seem strange too. You don't have to hide thingsanymore, Ash. Just tell me already!" he exclaimed running a hand through his hair.

Eyes wide, i wasn't able to do anything. I stayed rooted on my stop. The thing that got my mind going blank was the thought that I dreaded. The thought about telling him everything. Of course he knew most of it. Heck he was with me when all this started and till it ended. But what he doesn't know is the after effect of it. It's nothing really, just bad thoughts haunting me. I know I'm over reacting but knowing Mason, he'll take all the blame on himself and try to fix this problem as much as he can. But the thing is he just can not help me.

Yes, I'm very grateful to have so caring and protective friends. I know I'm very lucky and I treasure them a lot. But i hate worrying them about myself. Especially Mason. I also know they have enough troubles of their own. I don't wanna be a burden to them. But knowing Mason here won't back down now.

Making a quick decision, I looked Mason in the eyes and nodded. His anger noticeably calmed and he seemed relieved. Well, me being me, did a very stupid thing after watching his face. I started laughing. Mason looked at me like I have grown two heads in just a second. That look made me laugh harder. I don't even know why i started laughing in the first place but seeing his pissed off look was worth it.

I composed myself and led a pissed off Mason to my room. Soon the atmosphere shifted and a heavy silence fell upon us. After deliberating for a few minutes, how to start talking, in my mind I finally looked at him and cleared my throat. He had an impatient look on his face which made me want to annoy him more by taking more time but nevertheless decided against it.

"It's been happening since that day.. You know, that day." i said and he nodded motioning me to continue. "Um I've been having very weird and strange dreams.. and they are more like nightmares." I gulped the lump forming in my throat. "I have this nightmare almost every night and and it messes with my head throughout the day." I shifted uncomfortably under his intimating gaze. I saw him clenching is jaws and balling his fists. "Well," he said through gritted teeth, "Tell me the nightmare." he spat the last word as if its disgusting. "I.. uh.. I see these big black bea-" I was cut off my blaring of the doorbell. I've not felt this relieved in my life before my hearing the doorbell ring. I did a happy dance internally and excused myself to see who was the lucky person to save me.

I was literally saved by the bell. I grinned and skipped towards the door opening it to see something that reminded me of forests...

Forest green colour...

Green circles...

Green eyes..

Uh oh.....
