Sitting in a luxurious car next to the school's most arrogant and egotistical bad boy and sipping oreo shake was the most absurd thought I would've had till a few hours ago. To top it all having a civilized conversation with him would have caused me to laugh hysterically.

Wide eyed, I gulped audibly. Dramatic ? I know. But how can he ask me that so casually? Wait... I did tell him to be casual.. But dang it! I.. how am I suppose to answer that ?

"Well...?"

"What?"

"Tell me!"

"Tell you what ?"

"You want me to repeat it?"

"Re.. no wait. Wait!!" Unbelievable. Am I really thinking about telling him that?

"Yes, hopefully you are."

Wha... "Did I say that out loud?"

"Pumpkin you are thinking everything out loud but don't worry I don't think it's dramatic." he chuckled saying this.

If I could, i would've turned tomato red right now. Wait.. What's so embarrassing?

"Shu-"

"Pumpkin that's not embarrassing even in the slightest." he chuckled again. Damn that voice.

"ugh!! Alright, I won't think now. Just repeat the question again. I actually forgot what you asked."

"You know, it's impossible for a human brain not to think. And how did you actually manage to forget what I asked you just a few seconds ago?"

I glared at him earning another chuckle in return.

"Okay okay. Anyway the question is 'What type of nightmares do you have often?'"

"Ooh.. Wait. What makes you think I have nightmares?"

He faced palmed and sucked in a sharp breath. "Pumpkin, are you this dumb or are you playing to be ? You ask me this after all this time?"

"Well.. you know, I actually might be..."

"Dumb? Now you're just killing it. I'll tell you how I know after you answer my question."

"Okay fine." I huffed. "It's nothing serious anyway. I dream about these chocolate mountains collapsing on me from time to time and these marshmallow fountains drowning me. Oh and also not having enough ice cream to fill my stomach. Yup. That's pretty much it."

"..."

"...."

"..."

"..."

".... Oranges are orange because crows are black. That is because white looked very weird on them and peacocks can swim like mermaids but mermaids would be jealous so they be kind and don't swim. Yup. That's pretty much it."

Wha... "... Are you high on air?"

"Yup. Just like you are high on your Oreo Shake."

Sarcasm on its peak. "Aiden! You just mixed the wires of my brain."

"Pumpkin, are you sure about having a brain?" He chuckled rather loudly this time.

He sure got some guts to say that. But wait... how? .. Why am I being so frank with him? This time I'm sure I didn't say that out loud. I clenched my jaws and looked straight ahead. I'm certain he noticed this change in attitude because he soon sobered up and within seconds the atmosphere changed from comfortable to very serious.

He cleared his throat and apologized for I have no idea what and a heavy silence fell upon us. Something must be very wrong with me because soon enough I found myself thinking and missing his chuckles. The wiring actually got twisted!! I need to think of something before I go insane so I did the best think I could think of that time. I tried to start a conversation.

"Let's go back? I need to get home now."

He looked at me with such blank eyes and I couldn't help but wonder what is he masking. He took a second looking at me and with his eyes still trained on me, he started his car and reversed it out of the parking. Impressive.

The ride back to my house was silent. Me? I wasn't thinking anything other than concentrating on the surroundings. But I wasn't so sure about him. He seemed to be in deep thoughts about something I'm now curious about as we reach my house. As I took off my seat belt I felt him hesitate about something. Don't even go that way, you guys!  I turned to look at him and sure enough he was having a battle in his good for nothing brain. Hey, i don't know why but I'm actually not feeling friendly towards him right now. "You wanna say something?" I asked in a cold hard tone.

"You know, you owe me an oreo shake now." he said looking out of the window. Why??  "I'm guessing because you didn't get the answers you were looking for?" He nodded at my guess. "Smart girl." I rolled my eyes at that. "Mister. You ain't gettin' anything. No answers. Don't even think that we became close after today. I actually don't want to converse with you again. Ever!"

Lies. I actually would've appreciated another drink with him. He is a nice company after all.

Something flashed through his eyes. My best guess is that it was hurt and doubt. But what's been said is said now. I can' and won't take it back. Call me egotistical, i don't care. I've just met him and he screams dangerous in every way.

He clenched his jaws so tight that I, for a second, got worried that they might crack. He nodded in response and I opened the door to get out. Before closing it I hesitated but thanked him wholeheartedly for the drink. He either didn't hear it or didn't bother responding and drove off after I shut the door.

Without looking back, I too went inside my house and straight to bed.

The night did fall. The lights did close. The clock did struck 3:00 A.M.

But my mind remained clouded by his thoughts only...

And that was the most frustrating yet peaceful night I've had in ages.
