"Ai.. Aiden." I said between heavy breaths. "Shush pumpkin. Don't use your mouth too much." he said and chuckled. I managed to nod and that's when the pain got the best of me and I fell into darkness.
"What the hell happened to her, Joseph? Who did this?"
"Lower you voice. You'll wake her up, douchebag."
"What in hell is he doing hear?"
"Mason relax! Don't shout in here."
"Relax? You want me to relax? She's unconscious for the past four hours! How can I possibly relax, Jake?"
"She has taken some strong blows, Mason. She was hurting badly after the fight so Joseph gave her morphine. I think she needs the rest seeing she doesn't sleep well often. Let it be, buddy."
"God! Why wasn't I there? I should've been here for her."
"I took care of her pretty well. Stop crying. She won't die"
"You freak! I'm gonna ki-"
"Shut the hell up, you guys." I shouted as loudly as I could but soon regretted as my headache got worse that was caused by these jerks talking so loudly. I groaned and turned sideways. Someone came rushing to me and started massaging my temple. I relaxed a little as that seemed to decrease my headache. "Here. Take these pills. They will help with the headache." I recognized that voice as Jacob's. I sat up straight and opened my eyes which was a bad move because the light in the room was so bright, it burned my eyes and increased the headache.
"Turn off the lights you skunk." I heard someone say. I immediately opened my eyes to confirm my doubts. Thank god someone dimmed the lights so now the room wasn't so bright. As I looked up, my doubt got confirmed. It was him. The one who helped me when I fell. The one who wanted to know my secret. The one whom I kicked out from my house. The one who stopped me from acting like a deadly monster.
There in the flesh stood with fists stuffed in his pockets was none other than Aiden Chester.
My eyes widen at the sight of him and my heart picked up pace. "What are you doing here" I asked him in a hoarse voice.
"That's what I asked him first." Mason said, annoyed.
"So much for a thank you." tsked Aiden. "Well, your welcome anyway."
I rolled my eyes at the response but a smile tugged on my lips anyway. On the other hand Mason scoffed. "Whatever." He then turned his attention to his phone probably texting River.
"Well?" I asked Aiden. He raised his brows and amusement shined in his eyes. "School's almost over, Pumpkin." he said smirking. Damn! I almost forgot about it. But wait... isn't he angry at me for yesterday? As if reading my thoughts he gave me a sad smile telling me that it's alright. I nodded saying, "Just let me get out of here. We can drive there together" but the last sentence came out as a question. He nodded and turned to Joseph. I almost forgot the others were here too. Almost. "Joseph?" he called out. Josy turned towards him and nodded. "She's ready to go, buddy." Wait.. buddy?? "Alright. C'mon pumpkin." said Aiden and turned on his heels to leave.
"Woah woah woah! She isn't going anywhere, Chester. She needs rest." stated Mason. Aiden stopped on his track and turned around. His eyes hard. "She will come with me." he simply said but i could sense that it was the calm before the storm. "She's coming with us." said Jacob standing next to Mason, their shoulders touching.
I saw Aiden clenching his jaws. "Guys..." I tried to get their attention but with no luck. A staring contest started between Mason and Aiden and Jacob was was just staring at the floor. I don't know why the floor seemed interesting to him but then again he is a strange person. "Mason.." Jake spoke. "What now?" Mason turned his attention towards him breaking the staring contest.
"Let her go.." Mason looked at Jacob as if he just turned into a rat. Jacob then raised his eyes and their eyes met having a secret conversation which annoyed me. Soon enough Mason sighed and stepped back. "Bring her back safely, freak. Or i'll hunt you down and kill you." he barked. Hearing this i dont know what amused Aiden but he smirked and grabbed my wrist. "C'mon pumpkin. Time for some oreo shake." Yummyyyy. I wobbled but got into pace with him as we jogged out of the building and into a black range rover. Impressive.
The drive was silent but it wasn't awkward which surprised me. When we reached our destination, Aiden parked the car and turned towards me. "Stay in, pumpkin. I'll bring you your order and we can talk here." I nodded and told him to get me an oreo shake medium sized.
All too soon we were settled in Aiden's car with our orders. I took a sip of my delicious oreo shake just as Aiden broke the silence, "So.. how are you?" Hearing this my eyes widen in surprise and i choked on my drink. How are you? Seriously? What is this guy up to?
"Fi..fine? You?" I answered and asked, confusion evident in my voice. "Fine too." he replied with his eyes fixed on his shake.
"Are you gonna ask about the weather next?" I tried to lighten the awkwardness hanging between us. "C'mon Chipmunk, just ask already." I said rolling my eyes.
"At least think of a better nick for me. My looks get offended by that." I scoffed at his response. Unbelievable. "As if pumpkin suits me any better?"
"Ooh.." he chuckled. "Is everything about revenge and getting back?" he held an amused expression on his face telling that it's just a joke but his tone and eyes told me a different story.
"Sorry? What's that suppose to mean?"
"Nada, pumpkin. It wasn't anything serious."
"I'm not a fool, jerk."
"Ah.. i know that well enough, love. But that is something we can talk about later."
Oh here it comes... wait, love??? "Alright. What is it?"
"Casually or on a serious note?"
"Casual?"
"What type of nightmares do you have often?" he asked me as if he was asking about the next match of football.
Well that was too casual.......
