A Father's Day Poem
Chesz Dylan©

I may have grown without your presence,
So I couldn't grasped what it was like.
I may have lost the once image of a hero in you,
But that wouldn't change the fact.
I failed, I got up, I grew and learned what I may have lack.
It took a while for this kid to be a man;
It took me courage to raise up a child of my own.
You might lack the ideals and principles I admired in other dads,
But it was because of that.. so I lived, I endured and able to stand.
I am here today not to brag about your strengths or condone your incapacity,
But to celebrate the bonds that existed because of your legacy.
From my birthright and the moment I breathe,
I am thankful of the privilege that the once child you raise--is now a father on his own.
This special day, let me remember all the memories of my childhood,
That it is not just about the Father's day, but imparting your legacy and joy of fatherhood.
