Ken's Pov
I was sitting at the dining table waiting for supper to be served. My parents were already seated and we were waiting for Randy. As a tradition in our household, we always take supper together. According to Nelly, it was a form of fostering unity.

" Aisha, go and call Randy," Nelly instructed which Aisha responded with a Yes Ma.

" Where is he?" Tony questioned when Aisha came without Randy following close behind.

" Sir, he said he wants to take his in the room," Aisha responded politely.

" What nonsense! Kenneth get your brother here this minute," Tony bellowed which I obeyed by striding towards Randy's room.

" Come in," I heard Randy say as I stood knocking on his door.

I entered to notice he was busily playing tomb raider on his Ps 4, shirtless.

" Randy, you know is supper time right?" I questioned, the moment I entered.

" Yeah, but wanna complete the game tonight. I ain't got time for food," he responded without lifting his head to watch me.

" You better get your ass in the dining room, before dad ceases the game," I warned him.

" Like I care. Will just replace it," he stated with a shrug.

"I don't want mum getting upset unnecessarily. You know what, just come with me and I will challenge you with a game afterwards. Whoever loses washes dads car for two straight weeks.

" Good, now you speaking my language," he eagerly responded before pausing the game.

" let's go mommy's boy,"  he mocked after grabbing a top and making his way out of the room.

" You better stop calling me that," I playfully warned.

" Will stop when you stop being a softie !" he responded.

" Really dude, then you have a long wait to do," I responded with a shrug whilst he laughed and gently patted my shoulder.

" What are you guys talking about?" Nelly questioned the moment she noticed our smiling faces.

" Nothing mum, just our differences, " I responded whilst Randy pulled a chair to sit on.

We were in the middle of the meals when Randy pulled out his phone to text.

" Young man, no texting whilst eating," Tony reprimanded and Randy reluctantly kept it in his pocket without argument.

We continued to eat whilst dad asks few things about our project and school life. I answered most of the questions whilst Randy gave a few replies. He just didn't like talking about academics.

"So you guys will be completing with first class," Nelly exclaimed in excitement whilst grabbing Randy's hand since he was close by.

" Am so proud of you," She continued whilst she looked at us with admiration.

" Mom, you should be proud because we are your sons not because of some academic shit!" Randy stated in exasperation whilst he wiggle his hand from Nelly's hold.

" Watch your tone boy!" Tony warned, a deafening silent falling on the table.

" Honey calm down," Nelly stated which made Tony frown.

" You are always defending this boy," he exclaimed in annoyance.

" Baby...," she couldn't complete her sentence before her phone rung.

" Excuse me," she said and gave Tony a pleading look before answering the call.

" Hey baby, wasup "she greeted the moment she picked the call and I immediately realised it was Aunty Raquel. They always act like teenagers anytime they were on phone.

" What! " she exclaimed loudly which got our attention.

" Sweetheart will be there by Wednesday. Calm down, everything will be fine," she assured her but I could tell she was also worried.

" What is the matter hun," Dad questioned the moment she ended the call.

" Tony is Raquel, she said Dr Yeboah has suffered a stroke and is admitted at the hospital," she stated sadly.

" That's bad, the man is about seventy-two now isn't it?" Dad questioned.

" Yeah, he is but things will be very difficult for Raquel.

" I know. So what do you plan on doing?"  Dad questioned whilst he looked at Nelly intently waiting for a reply.

" I need to be there for her, will be taking a flight to London tomorrow or the next day," she responded like it was an obvious thing to do.

" And come back when?" he questioned further.

" I don't really know, but will come back as soon as she gets the grasp on things," she replied.

" What about the store?" he questioned in disbelieve.

" The marketing manager will take care of things my absence," she stated like she already had everything planned out.

" Must you always move mountains for her sake," he replied in annoyance before getting up from his chair and strode to his room.

" Honey wait! Mom exclaimed before following after him.

" I guess dinner is officially over," Randy stated when mom left and headed towards his room.

" Wait for me, the game is on!" I shouted after him, which he gave me a cocky smile in return.

He has won the game after ten rounds by 10:9. It was almost midnight and we laid in his bed exhausted.

"Ken," I felt Randy tap my shoulders lightly which made me open my eyes.

" What is it?" I questioned whilst I turned to view his face.

" Do you like Sharon?" he asked whilst watching me intently to gauge my reaction.

"Of course I do, she is a nice person," I responded as if it was a silly question to ask.

" Naa I meant romantically," he probed further.

" What the hell men, get your mind out of the gutter, she is like a sister to me," I responded whilst laughing, the whole situation sounding absurd.

" Why do you ask though?" I asked curiously.

" Nothing," he quickly answered and began to pack the game items.

"It better be!" I responded in a serious tone, the afternoon incidence with Sharon invading my mind.

" Chill, sup with the sudden serious tone?" he asked, slightly perplexed.

" Sharon told me you came unto her this afternoon at the kitchen," I stated, suddenly getting irked at the memory.

" Is that why you are acting overprotective? I was just messing with her mind," he replied with a chuckle.

" I don't want you hurting her like the other girls, so I want you to stay away from her," I warned, not liking the twinkle in his eyes at the mention of Sharon's name. I knew he was up to a mischief.

" And if I don't? " he challenged his lips set in a grim determination.

" You wouldn't want to find out!" I threatened.
