Chapter 7: Did You Know?

Tony's eyes widen and he exchanged looks with Pepper.

You narrowed your eyes at Tony. Pepper left the room and Tony faced you.

"Look. I have to go." Tony said and gave you a small smile. You rolled your eyes.

"You can come." He said and you nodded. You and him grabbed your suits and headed towards Steve's location.

After suiting up both of you headed to the helicopter. Then you finally made it to Steve's location.

Tony forced open the elevator doors and his helmet revealed his face. Steve stood defensively.

Bucky and him looked at you with a raised brow.

"You seem a little defensive." Tony said and walked towards him.

"It's been a long day." Steve said and his eyes altered to you in your suit. No one knew your secret identity so you were safe.

"Ease up, Soldier. We're currently not after you." Tony said and gave Bucky a look.

"Then why are you here?" Steve asked, his shield still held up.

You decided not to speak. It seemed like the best choice to make.

"Maybe your story's not so crazy. Maybe. Ross has no idea we're here." Tony spoke as he pointed to you and him. "I'd like to keep it that way." Tony said and walked forward.

"Otherwise, we'd have to arrest ourselves." Tony said as you chuckled silently.

"Well, Sounds like a lot of paperwork." Steve said and put his shield down.

"It's good to see you, Tony." Steve said and Tony nodded.

"You, too Cap." Tony looked at Bucky who still had his gun up. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Hey, Manchurian Candidate, you're killing me. There's a truce here. Drop the..." Tony trailed off as Steve gave him a nod.

Bucky lowered the gun and Tony sent you a nod. You walked with him through the hallways.

"I got heat signatures." Tony said and you looked around.

"How many?" Steve asked. Tony furrowed his brows together.

"Um..One."

You saw a man in a container of some sort. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Steve.

"If it's any comfort, they died in their sleep. Do you really think I wanted more of you?" The man asked with a thick Sokovian accent.

"What the hell?" Bucky said looking around at the tubes.

"I'm grateful for them, though. They brought you here." He continued and Steve threw his shield at the wall.

"Please Captain. The soviets built this chamber to withstand a launch blast of UR-100 rockets." He said and Steve narrowed his eyes at him.

"I'm betting I could beat that." Tony said cockily and you snorted.

"Oh, I bet you could, Mister Stark. Given Time. But then you'd never know why you came." He said and Tony narrowed his eyes at him.
